3" pipe volume per foot= 84.72cu inx2= 169.44cu in
4.5" volume per foot= 190.68cu in
What kind of material are you using? Seen some make the flange in steel 321 .... which should be better to stand the heat. http://www.metalshims.com/t-321-Stai...ata-sheet.aspx
Also; some report problems with tears just beside or/and in the welding ..... some of it could be explained by them of not having followed a correct procedure for the welding .... I have seen some headers which has been welded inside (pipe to flange) as a socket weld ... and if your not careful - if you put the pipe all the way down to the bottom of the socket; then you're weld seam well most probably fail due the consisting warming and cooling of the steel since it has nowhere to go.

By the way overZealous1; did you not put up some info on heat exchanger? I have friend who sells radiator, Ac etc. - what size should I be looking for?

a few more things i'm adding now.

doing dual aem widebands, and one of them reads boost too. you can datalog all of them too. the wb and boost combo gauge has a failsafe you can program into it also. if the a/f gets to lean (user programmable based on boost) then it will ground the failsafe wire. i am going to hook it up to a relay and interrupt the electro magnet wires to the supercharger. if a/f goes lean, it should kick the blower off. i got the gauge for $288 from an ebay seller. hell of a deal for it's capabilities and the failsafe.

decided to do the rear toe links. but, instead of paying the incredibly inflated prices that are out there, i am building them. $90 in materials. about crapped when i saw $1200 for them!! no shame! will be building them next week.

the deal misha has going on right now may be too hard to pass up. car has a couple little scratches, so, getting there widebody will give me a great excuse for a repaint!! going to sleep on it, but right now the answer is.............................

i been here, been spending alot more time over in the e55 section gaining info. alot more there! lol

car still has a little stumble, other than that great. great news on my search for competent tuners. i got a hold of john reed. john is local to me and known him for almost 10 years now. he is one of the best tuners in the world and is the guy behind all of the underground cars. luckily he knows jerry at eurocharged, so, i can have jerry doing the actual map manipulations remote and john expalining what the car is doing and giving insight over the phone while he is running dyno. i could not be more lucky than to have one of the best mercedes tuners working with one of the best tuners out there, both working together for the tune.

along with the stuff in my post above, i am just waiting to hear back on combo price on lsd and 3.23 gears. if i do the misha wb kit, i may hold off though since car will be down for awhile doing the kit.
i do bodywork and have painted many show winning paint jobs, so really looking forward to doing that. i have done some crazy paint jobs!! the sl will not lack in flash. haha

AEM DWB, pricey, but a great addition. Love the idea of having a fail safe. I got to see this. Rear toe link rape. The prices are nuts and if it works I'd buy a set.

I like the Misha kit myself. I've been in contact with a guy that sells a kit from Germany that isnt as drastic of a change. I found one headlight for the upgrade on ebay for a great price if your interested. I'll PM the link.

i was just looking at headlights right now. do you have pics of the other kit you are looking at?

misha's holiday deal right now is really good! by the time i sell off all my stock stuff and figured at low sale prices, i will only have a split of $2k and that counts the new headlights in!!! it should only take a week or so to install it. the rest of the car is perfect, so it will only take a light scuff and go right to paint.

i have a set of 19x10 and 20x12 adv05.1's on my 67 camaro. i think i am going to rob them from that project and use them for the widebody sl kit. by my figures the offset should work with a 1" wheel adapter (gotta go from mercedes to chevy bp). i think the wheels will look alot better on the sl than the camaro. sell my current wheels then and buy new wheels for the camaro that will fit that project better.

now if i could just make up my mind on a kit!!! i'm down to 3.

I think the 19" in the front is gonna be way too small for a widebody.

the original black series were 19" front and 20 rear, so it should look fine. i can always just get spacers for my current wheels too that are 20x9 and 20x11.

This is the cheapest I ever found on new headlights: http://www.ebay.com/itm/160873854473...DXX:IT&vxp=mtr

OverZealous1 - could you please give a short crash-curse on fuel-pipe and injectors? Cal1 says he needs them since he's almost 500 hp at the wheel and this is a must to prevent the engine to blow up

the fuel rail mod is pretty easy. there is lots of pics as to where to cut the rails, then just butt weld on a pair of 6an fittings. a couple of 90 degree 6an fittings off of that and route crossover tube under blower. the crossover tube is very tight though, best to do the fitting of it with blower off.
injectors are a no brainer, but depending on the style of injector you will need to use ev6 to ev1 adapters.

i really have a problem painting every car blue, or orange. i can't help but think this color might look killer with the misha kit. black wheels etc and this blue. simple, easy to match/repair, easy to spray, and i think will give great lines to the car with a racy, old school, and new school look.

or the 370z blue. all i know is i want a straight tone and no pearls or metallics. every paint i have done has had effect, would be nice to just do a straight tone. want to compliment the lines instead of over powering. if that makes sense.

no prob. because of where the fuel inlet to the rail is, and the shape of the rail being somewhat of a horse shoe, the furthest away injector lacks in fuel delivery and pressure. looping the fuel rail aids in equalizing pressure to all injectors.
i saw alot of melted pistons and blown motors in threads being blamed for this. the best option is doing a return style fuel system. but, that would require redoing your fuel system nearly in its entirety.
