mine is low but that one is about 1-1.5" lower!! i felt i was super close to bottoming out the struts, but looks like it can go further.
the front still seems to ride decent, but the rear is like a rock even at my level. i am thinking i will raise the front of mine .5". the front is lower than rear and not looking correct. also, i am totally scrapping going into my driveway even in the highest mode. if not for the splitter i made, my front bumper would already be chipped up and trashed on the front corners!!

show some pics after paint! i am hitting primer and doing guide coat today myself! looks like color by next weekend.

These kits (if lowered) are a beeyatch in most driveways or especially hair raising going thru extremely low curbs in/out of parking lots..

well yesterday was about the most frustrating day with the misha kit. i had to wait abit before i could post to cool down.
most all edges are 90% resin with no matting so while doing final fitment stuff flanges were breaking off and shattering with any type of loads or clamping on them. very hard to even drill a hole without it shattering and made even worse by the fact almost none of the flanges are at the correct angle forcing you to have to bend them to mount. one mount for the front inside bumper air deflector just popped off in my hand with almost no force.
so after all the work put in so far just to get the panels to mostly match, the flanges breaking/cracking is making me have to finish again some areas.
i swear 25% of the kit is bondo with tons of work someone had already put into it. i really would have hated to see how this thing was right when pulled from the molds. i have purchased far cheaper kits and gotten better quality. having to lay up my own fiberglass and glue on some of my own mounting flanges.
very light edge sanding/shaping will result in opening up large voids and air bubbles that were trapped in the forming process that then needs to get filled.
i have lost count of my hours on this so far and am only at the point of primer. that equates to being only 70% of the way to being able to spray color compared to where i started though.
i am normally not one to ***** and just go with the flow, but i really reached a peak yesterday when i realized i still have a ton of work to get it to the quality of looking like factory panels. up till now it has just been trying to get the panels to match to eachother. now is making the edge thicknesses and mounting final positions and sanding with a guide coat. what i am running into is making me feel as though i am starting from scratch again on what should be the light at the end of the tunnel.

did get primer on all of the misha pieces today though. hopefully there is enough on there to float out a lot of the bad stuff.

Damn! That really sucks dude. I said it before and will say it again....one would think for the price that these kits would be of much better quality and fit. It's not like they are going on a 92 accord for pete sakes! Not that there is anything with with a 92 accord if you own one! lol

if i wanted it to be a 10' car (looking great from 10' back) i would be about wrapped up. but i know i would never drive the car and hide it if it was like that!! oh well. luckily it is only my time and not having to pay to get it done.

It really pisses me off to hear this stuff about this bodykit. Misha Designs posts all this stuff about how great their kits are and then you hear this horror story. surley they are reading this?? What are they doing about it. For an average joe like me who would have bought the kit and asked a body shop to fit it the costs would have been running into the $1000s. What an utter disgrace. Having been through this before with my ML63 kit i totally feel your pain.

Misha Designs should be kicked off this forum. God help anyone who buys their new C63 bodykit. I sure wont be!

its tough to read what your going through but just based on the price of the kit you should not of had many of these issues, fiberglass is def not easy to work with but most of what I am used to has a top gel coat like layer over the base fiberglass you can work with, and those air pocket bubbles I have only really seen when to much of the top layer is sanded off. I have had a aftermarket body kit before on a m3 and what keeps me away from any future fiberglass kits is the incredible amount of work needed to get it looking factory even when the kits come in great quality and the possibility of something unforseeable happening in the future (like a minor car accident), would be more of a pita process

don't think it needs to go as far as getting kicked off the boards, lol.
i have to admit customer service has been good, and i have talked to them a few times regarding quality to make sure they are aware of it and can make the necessary adjustments.
there really isn't much of a faster way to do what needs to be done, so yes, if someone was paying to get it installed imo it would be about $10k. then paint!

in some areas there is white gelcoat, and others white primer. they did do alot of prep previously to try and get smooth and for the most part that is acceptable. it is the flanges and the little tight areas where they didn't take the time to repair that are the time killers. they need to hit all flanges with matting, then use their chop gun for the interior of the panels.

i started wet sanding tonight after 3 coats of an epoxy primer and my guide coat. this was after initial sanding with a 6" hard block and the pile of primer misha put on. working on the side sills so far. still not perfect and would have to pile on a lot more primer to be able to switch to a 10-12" hard block.
hoping the other parts will finish better. time, time, time.

i admit i am a perfectionist and if i am doing the work i expect the reflection to be near perfect (judging good body work you focus on the correct representation of the reflection, and don't focus on panel itself). crappy body work looks like a house of mirrors in the reflection. a super flat panel and great gloss with no orange peel means you can read a newspaper by just seeing it clearly in the reflection and the text lines do not wobble up and down. most all new cars are not even finished to that level though.

i have stuck with my goal of sanding just one part per day as of my last post. body is messed up and back killing, but the show must go on!! front bumper has been the worst so far. will have 8 hours just into sanding the guide coat to get final shape of bumper before paint. this means i have about 20 hours into front bumper alone!
i am taking a few days off next week to hopefully have car together again by next weekend. then one last final go over of fitment and basically do a complete assembly with inner fenders and all to make sure nothing else needs to get modified and fits perfect. then, paint.
ug. and they call this a labor of love. :P

AMGfan-- SL is in pieces and initial fitting of body parts has been done...SOOOO much bodywork is being done to make things right. BUT it wasn't unexpected. Multiple coats of priming are needed, after all the additional body filler are done to keep the lines in check, then block sanding will be needed to even out the waves on the existing body panels...especially the front bumper and all of the hood. When they attached the hood and put it in the closed position you will see that the front quarter panels were too low so they had to be built up and a portion of the hood had to be shaved to get the gap lines tight.Major work

i had the same thing going on with the misha hood. ground a little off the hood, and added a little to fender.
by looking at the intersection of the fender and the side sill, the pd fitment looks abit better.

getting close now. body gaps are looking good, but almost too good! may have made them too tight. was aiming for 1/8", and can always make them bigger from there.

hard to tell, but this is the rear bumper to fender. still assembling the car again so will get better pics in the daylight.
overZealous1's build thread-20130311_215332_hdr_zpsda9ff0f5.jpg

so i am past my first main guide coat and most all of it came out good. i did ofcourse flatten it quite a bit before spraying my own thick primer on it though. most of anything left will float out in the clear. i plan on doing 6 coats of high solids clear and will be cutting and buffing it. with that much clear you can almost do body work with it!!

started fitting the slats in the hood and rear bumper. misha did not disappoint with the flanges being at horribly off angles and them being different shapes. after hours of cutting off flanges and gluing back on and reshaping them, i have found out i don't really like them. lol. will be coming up with my own solution and posting up pics in the next day or 2.

a few more. the side skirts are not fully installed, so nevermind that. but, you can see how fitment is now. i am down to just a few very slight things and little pinholes to fill now.

i tried a couple ideas to replace the slats in the hood and rear, but they just didn't come out as good. i will just need to make new slats or something. i will be painting everything even the slats blue then decide if i want them black later. they are far from being straight enough to paint with clear!! bairily good enough for flat black the way they are!
