Overtaken
Since i had my S600 and my SL65 re mapped with Johnson pumps fitted
I can honestly say nothing has come by me. However yesterday I was
in the S600 when a white Merc came up behind VERY quickly. I tried to
shake him off ( damp road with traction didn't help ) but in the end I pulled
over, and he passed me easily. It was a CLS 63 AMG brand new.
When I got home I checked the net, WOW you can buy these for just over
80 grand, V8 TT with 0-60 4.2 and you can get a sport upgrade to take it
to 577 bhp and 0-60 3.6. Obviously you would buy it without the sport pack
and do it yourself. I reckon my re mapped 65 does 0-60 in around 3.8 so
I think I might avoid them.

You have to remember that if he has the sport pack on his 5.5 TT with the
MCT gearbox he is still going to crucify my S600, my re mapped 65, now that's another story. Just shows how a gearbox can make a car so quick, as
of course an LSD. Surely my 600 should have a LSD, it was the traction
that kept kiling my power, all that lovely torque.

one sends power to the tires, the other generates heat in your driver side rear brake

The new BiTurbos are ridiculously easy to tune as well, so just a flash can push 675hp from the numbers I've heard tossed around.

The CLS with 577hp with AWD and 3.6 to 60 is a 2014 and is not out yet (the one I ordered and it is not 80K, more like 110K). The one you encountered if stock with PP is 550 and 3.9 to 4.2 to 60 depending on which magazine you read.

A tuned V8TT is a monster. Doesn't produce as much torque as the V12TT, but as you know more torque is only better when you have the traction. Plus, If you had your car in automatic when you punched the throttle you had to wait for the 5speed to downshift. Giving the V8TT a jump as well.
I drove the new CLS63 V8TT (hard) at the AMG driving academy. It is very fast and it doesn't appear to overheat the intercoolers like the V12TT or 55's do. When the 2014 E63 and CLS63 have 4wd they are going to rule the streets. Just wave as they go by.

Go find some empty pavement, turn off ESP, hit the throttle. Does one wheel spin (usually right rear) or do both? Look at the tire marks, do you see one or two?
Make sure you have a lot of room, the car can get sideways very quickly.

What? No.
None of the s or cl class has LSD. None of the sl class has LSD but the sl55 with track pack, the sl65 and the sl65 black series.
In my mind it is absolutely retarded to have a high torque engine and rwd and not equip it with LSD.
