New Dyno testing of the SL65

CBtuning.net got their new Dynotech Dyno last week so I finally got on it to check out what the final verdict was after mods. Link to video:

Clanking noise you hear I think is a tire pressure monitor which broke free in the right rear tire. Will be repaired later this week.

Yeah...what the good Dr asked. Also, I understand that this is probably the first car on this dyno, but it would be nice to know what a STOCK SL65 makes on this dyno, for a real baseline. Seems like pretty good power...

Sorry this took so long....mods are: ECU/TCU tune by OETuning which took the original stock 505 WHP up to 565WHP. Then we added SpeeDrivens Intercoolers, larger heat exchanger, constant running IC pump and muffler delete. Running on Sunoco 260GT Plus 104 Octane Race Fuel.

We have run over 50 cars on the new DynoTech which has a DynoJet Mode. All the cars that had previously run on the DynoJet and then run on the DynoTech in DynoJet mode have been very consistant. We ran the SL65 in DynoJet Mode because our initial testing at stock and after the OETune were on the DynoJet.....we needed t compare apples to apples. This video tells the whole story.

Doesn't sound terribly loud for a muffler delete but video can be a bit decieving. How loud would you say it is in person? Would you say a nice roar when at WOT or more like a screaming monster, LOL?

My muffler less car sounds "exotic" and just right driving around, but I'm told it roars at WOT...tried to video, but no dice...
I dont like loud, so I think it is just right.no drone, etc...I wouldn't have it any other way.

Yes, the video is deceiving....it does have a deep throaty tone but not annoyingly loud. I'd say a nice roar at WOT.

Torque was 700+ lb-ft at around 3000rpm. This car when stock on the DynoJet had 505 WHP

Hello,

congrats on the HP-Gains.

Have you also used 104 Octane Race Fuel on the Baseline-Run and Tune Only-run, too?

In your opinion, do you see a difference in HP with 104 octane fuel?

Kind Regards
B

Actually I don't know the answer to that....not enough testing with different fuels on the Dyno. But it is very possible we aren't seeing any gains. The day the Dyno arrived we did some test runs and the car had Sunoco 93 Octane in it and we got two readings of 615 WHP. But there are so many factors such as ambient temp and humidity. When we ran the same race fuel that we run at the track it was a very hot and humid day and the day we ran the standard road fuel was much cooler and drier. From what I have seen DA has more to do with HP than any other factor with my current mods.

Nice power...
I have one question...
When you install the Speedriven parts do you modify the tune also as Speedriven do or you leave it as it was?

There was no need to modify the tune. The SpeeDriven parts help to keep the air intake temps down so you get more power from your tune. Lower AIT's keep the computers from dialing back your timing.

Okay thank you...
Speedriven sell an another tune when you upgrade the engine with new coolers and so on. You can use a more aggressive tune then.
