SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: SL 55 Pricing

Anyone have better information?
Id work out the percentage difference between US and German SL500 and apply the same to the SL55
Remember,. base specs are different, German cars dont have COMAND and various others as standard, so add the options that are standard into the base price when doing the calculations
The SL500 runs 94,308 euros which is about USD$82,500. The US price is about 105% of that ($86,500).
The SL55 costs 124,236, which is about USD$108,700. Applying the same 105% comes out to a hair under $115K.
Seems like a pretty big premium over the 500 ($20K over an SL500 sport), but it's a helluva lot of car.
Would cost you $20K to strap on a 3rd party supercharger, and you might not get the resale, and you'd probably cancel the warranty.
I'm hearing that a couple thousand SL55's will make there way to the US each year. There are something like 2-3 hundred MB dealers in the US, so that works out to an SL55 every month or two for the average dealer.

My comment about the Porsche must be qualified by the fact that one that is reasonably well equiped and has the X50 engine option (450bhp) at a cost of $17,700, is pushing $150,000 vs. $115k or $120k for an SL 55. I realize that the SL 500 slalom time was second only to the Porsche twin turbo, which means that the SL 55 will probably be quite close to the slalom time of the TT. The ABC is truly an awesome system, as I have discovered with my CL and makes the SL 55 an extermely desirable car to those who appreciate the capabilities of such cars. Except for striaght line acceleration it could run with 360's and Porsche Turbos. My further assumption is that the CL 55 with the supercharged engine will be almost equal to the SL 55, as their weight will be quite close.

Rake, when you say 2004 do you mean calendar year 2004 or model year 2004 (i.e. potentially early calendar 2003)?
