Your engine builder???
IF you are wondering who built your engine, and you can't read the name on the supercharger plaque, here's a way to determine the builder.
My 2003 SL55 engine was built by Sabato De Luca.
Here is the link to the first of 9 pages of engine builders - AMG Master Mechanics. They are arranged alphabetically by first name:

You MAY need to be a member of AMG Private Lounge (easy to 'join') for access. IF the link doesn't take you directly to the plaques, then: Once you sign in and get the home page, click on 'Inside AMG' at the top of the first page, then on the drop down, click on 'company', then in the bottom of the page is a picture with 'Master Mechanics' below it. Click on that picture to bring up their plaques and their names printed below them.

I could not find it either, but it is very clearly written on my SC plaque. SO - maybe he's retired, but there is another De Luca listed in the 8th or 9th page.
By the way, I read recently that there are several women building these engines, and they wanted the 'one man' changed. Guess what - it's still 'One Man'!!!

I took the tour of the engine works in Affalterbach recently and saw two women on the floor building engines. I asked the guide and she related that in fact they have four women who have made the grade. The issue of changing the motto came up and the powers that be said that there will be no changes. Search inder Affalterbach and you'll find my write up.
