Picked up SL55 Yesterday
I ordered this car along time ago and it finally came in. I sold my 2003 CL55 a week ago and I was undecided on taking it. The weather in Miami just gives you that itch. The car is as follows.
Mars Red new for 2004 replaced MAGMA
Charcoal interior
Keyless Go
Hands Free Phone "waste"
Ventilated Seats "waste"
Panorama Roof
Bi Xenon lights
MSRP 129165 which for some reason seems high, does anyone know if they had a price increase for 2004?
The car is awesome. The red with the black pano roof is a really nice contrast. It feels quicker than my cl55 and has a much better sound. I have 900 miles to go before break in is over and I can really get on it. As far as Mods go I have ordered the following
Kleeman Lowering Module
HRE 549 wheels 20X10.5 rears 3.5 inch lip and 20X9.5 fronts 2 inch lip
Renntech Deck lid spoiler
Carbon Fiber wheel which I am waiting on Arling to get me info on. Pics can be found here.

That color is IMO the best color for SL55 besides Black I seen one on the highway at night it looked awsome. The stock multi peace wheels look way better then those optional CLKGTR looking wheels from AMG. Post pics when you lower.

there was an approximate $6500 U.S. Dollar increase on the '04 SL55, which did not pass on the entire difference of the Euro's rise vs. the Dollar.. MB decided not to get crazed about changes in currency exchanges as they did for awhile in the '90's.
enjoy!

Thanks guys for all the nice compliments. People really love the color. There are about 6 sl55'S and countless 500's in my building where I live. They are all silver and black, so I wanted to get something a little different. I can't wait tell the break in is over.

btw......dont judge the ventilated seats until the temps go up abit. We are suffering here in South Florida with 75 degree temps......LMAO at all you northerners in 10 degree weather.

i have the new AMG 19" double spoke wheels. You have probably seen them before. Actually look on the top right of this page and the car next to the MB F1 car has the 18" version i think. Not a very large picture though. Ive heard some stories about HRE, but its all hearsay.

I got my wife the SL55. While I think it is a fun car and sounds better, thats about it. I MUCH rather drive my CL55. My CL feels quicker and is MUCH more comfy. Both cars are lowered with 20" HRE's. 549's on the CL and 547's on the SL. Both cars get thumbs up everywhere I go. I will say, the SL is dropped quite a bit. The wheels tuck when I am driving and looks wicked. If I had to choose one, it would be the CL, but thankfully I have both.

I will try to take some pics. Both cars are black. The SL has 547's with Brushed finish and polished lips. The CL has Black 549's with polished lips. My wheels are kind of Bi-polar, you either love them or hate them. Her wheels everyone loves!

Very cool. Also have ventilated seats and got them because in S500 last summer they were great. You might also notice they switch to on when you lower top to cool seats
