year recommendations for sl65

so looking at getting an sl65 since the prices are so good right now. looking at 05-07 models.

Any real difference in the three years? Price difference between an 06-07 is significant. Unless there is a reason to go with an 07 can get a much better deal on an 06 and theres a couple of 05 rentechs available as well.

07's have push button close trunk, perforated steering wheel, and shifter paddles rather than buttons along with a few small changes.

Current: C217 V12TT AMG Previously: C55 AMG, SL65 AMG
Slight bumper changes, brake changes, etc.

I personally got a good deal on an 08, but there are much better deals on the 05-06's

You could always get an 05 or 06 and redo the steering wheel through DCT.

If you find a good deal on an earlier SL65 but don't like the button shifters on the wheel and the wheel uses the same shift buttons as the SL55's did (I'm pretty sure they do) you can upgrade the buttons to paddles for under $200. The kit is high quality and found on ebay.

Always try to buy as new as you can afford as through the production line small updates and tweeks happen to better the car. I do however like the front bumper gills on the side better on the 05-06 models compared to the 07-08.
