SL65 Exhaust Cutouts
Gents-
Thinking of installing electronic exhaust cutouts.
SL65 with Renntech ECU - what's the stock pipe diameter?
I thought it was 3" but some threads are showing 2.5"
Has anyone installed them? Pros? Cons?

Its a metric size closer to 2.75" exhaust tubing, 3" should work, 2.5" will be small/restrictive.
There are vids on youtube. Depending on your choice of cutouts, some have a tendency to sound like a small exhaust leak when closed, can be obnoxious, but depends on the car, placement of the cutouts, design, and owner awareness.
The cars sound fantastic with open cutouts, a bit loud but not that bad due to the inherent muffling effect of the turbos.

I did cutouts on mine trust me if you drives yours alot muffler delete might annoy the **** out of you. I did 3 inch qtp cut outs but my whole exhaust is a custom 3 inch mandrel bent exhaust with catless down pipes and hi flow muffers. Catless downpipes alone makes it a much nicer sound but nothing compared to the likes of catless downpipes and open cutout on WOT

2005 SL65
No drone and I loved the sound inside and out. The turbos help keep the car quieter, as did the cats my car had.
