New engine/trans mounts on Nay's SL55

70k miles on her 2005 and it felt like a drive shaft was wonky. 800.00 in labor and I bought the recommended mounts from RockAuto.com.
Feels so much better!!

Did it feel like the wheels were super off balanced? I'm trying to chase down a strange vibration in my SL55.

Yes it does. It has been getting worse and worse over the last year.

Could be time for a transmission service...

What part of a trans service would fix a vibration that feels like wheels being off balanced?

I had a balance issue that I could not determine. I also thought it was tire balance. After balancing the tires with no luck, a fellow member here told me to have the trans serviced, even though not a bunch of miles since last service (maybe 20k miles?). Voila! - no more vibration.

What exactly does your "trans service" entail, though? Conductor plate, TCU connector, drain/fill, filter replacement, etc..?

A Transmission Service Type 6 was performed at MB:

140-277-00-95 Filter
140-271-00-80 Elastomer - MO
140-271-00-60 Seal Ring
140-991-00-55 Lock pin
Q-1-09-0166 Mobil ATF134 Fluid

This is just a thought - this may not be the case in your instance.

Prior to this, I had tires balanced, 4 wheel alignment performed.
