2003 SL55 > what should i pay?

hi all,

please give me some practical guidance about prices.

a 2003 SL55, with 7,500 miles and all options except DISTRONIC, is available starmarked from a S FL dealer.

what do you think would be a reasonable price to pay for it?

i'm looking forward to your good advice.

thank you,
david

I am finding low mile 03's in the mid to high 90's. 04's in the 105-110

Schiznick and Juice it...

thank you for the numbers.

the notorious autohaus has a pewter over burgundy 2003 SL55 that my GF and i both thought looked great. it was just in, uncleaned, and not even on the sales sheets yet.

looks aside, they were asking 109 and change. we thought that was steep.

i configured the car on edmunds, and came up with roughly the following:
private party: 109
dealer retail: 111
certified: 113

i thought those numbers looked high, so i asked for your thoughts to get practical numbers. your numbers were more in line with what i'd expected.

if anyone knows of a heavily optioned car at a reasonable price, then please let me know.

fyi, autohaus also had an SL65 for sale...at 299,900. and a mclaren masterpiece was smack in the middle of the showroom, mesmerizing young and old alike.

thank you again,
david

although off board topic, how do you like your G500, and how reliable has it been?

Hey Dave:

Now that you have a better perspective of how much a 2003 SL55 should go for relative to condition and mileage, you could make a reasonable offer (in confidence of a good deal) for the SL55 you like at Autohaus. If they are asking $109K, I'm sure that the sales head would let it go at a fair and reasonable mid to high 90's given an interested buyer.

Afterall, it costs them time and money as the vehicle is prepared to sit in their showrooms. 2004 is nearly at an end and the 2003 will be officially considered a 2yr old model. Nothing to lose, possible a great gain whether agreed upon now or in a few more weeks when it's not selling @ $100k+. Btw, I love Pewter Silver (my sig)

Great Luck! Enjoy the search!

Ru_matrx...

i would agree with you if not for the dealer being the notorious autohaus.

it is more than unlikely that they'll permit more than a few pennies to evade their grasp.

i don't know if this info will help, but i sold my sl55 in hawaii just a few weeks ago

it was:
2003 bril silver
about 6000 miles
turbine wheels
bi-xenon
keyless go

i sold it to a private party for 109k... the dealer in honolulu offered around 105k i think.

2013 SL65 45th Anniversary Edition, 2014 Range Rover Sport Autobiography
In central Texas, my Starmark 03 with 4500 miles, pano roof, tire pressure monitor, bixenon, ventilated seats, and keyless go was listed at 112.5, but the dealer came down to 105.

Cheers,

Paul
