Sarasota is infested with SLK's, it's not unheard of to see a half dozen of them on a large dealer's used lot. It's still a great little roadster though and a lot of women do think it's just the cutest thing (which is a good thing ).

Wow that rolled benz makes me sick to stomach! As for racing I went on a first date with this girl (she liked my car, haha go figure) At the light there was this guys in his mid 40's I would say in a 911 Carera and I looked at him he reved so at green (well a little before that I was doing a break stand) we let it go and I had him beat until about 60 then he flew by me but I let off as I saw him comming pretty quick. Needless to say the chick thought I won and just made me love my car all that much more As for being a common car, I have only saw 2 others around the grand rapids area. When I was looking for mine I had to drive 3 hours away to the closest one for sale (with the features and color that I wanted). To top it all off this other girl that I have known for a while, wouldn't pay me much attention but the casual conversation; until I told her I bought a benz and showed her the pics on my phone Once again, needless to say but that got me right in the door! Gold digger? Maybe, she is a hawain tropics model so I don't really care!

SLK
Girls

I have come out to my car twice and found notes on the windshield.
I was sick, thought they were "I hit your car and..." notes.
Nope, both were girls names and numbers.
The other day a girl came up to the car while I was waiting outside the store for my wife and started to chat.
Wife came out and waited (to my surprise) for her to get done then came over to get in the car, HAHAHA.

Man wish I wasn't married sometimes. :v

That is awesome squishy! You must have a pretty cool wife though, I mean she didn't get mad at you or anything, so playing the field is fun but you sound like you got it pretty good!

Got a question, do you guys park with the top down, or with the top up? I mean sometimes people don't know that the SLK is a convertible...

Craziest thing is having a cop following you wherever you go as if they're waiting for you to do something illegal... *Don't install pulley kit and intake at the same time*! Cop magnet...

I always put the top up enless I'm right by my car, never know what some jealous people might toss in my baby. Also I love putting the top down/up at read lights cuz it takes about as long to turn green and man does that draw the attention! Derek

you raced a 911 and had him till 60 mph? either the 911 was (1) hella old and had a broken engine (2) he could not shift (3) he wasn't trying

i live in south Orange County, California so MB's are very common...though SLKs aren't as common as other models...and mine being a yellow SLK sure makes it standout...hehe

Talking

Hey, Krk its called at 4500 rpm brake stand, launches the car like a bullet. I was getting rid of the tires that were one there one way or another. Just don't do it around a turn or u end up doing a 180.... So this girl was in my car, she's smokin hot she got rated at her college as hottest girl on campus. She wanted the top down the other day on our date, yeah I dropped it: it was 24 degrees F outside

Yeah I get twice the amount of looks now.... I was putting the top down today because we had a unseasonaly warm day about 55 F when its normally 15. So I put the top down, thought I had enough clearence in my trunk until I heard SMASHHHHH. I just thought I broke something in my trunk, until I put the top up and the rear window was smashed out. Fun stuff, luckly its getting fixed tomorow.

How was this possible when the roof can only be operated with the boot flap secured in place???

Oh the boot flap was in place, but apperently it doesn't have a sensor that tells if the flap is to high in the air, it looked and felt fine to the touch, I didn't realize how little room the clearance was between the window and the flap. Luckly its only a 150$ dumb@#$ mistake.

What did you have under the flap that was hard enough to break the rear window?

Also, I am astounded the rear window is only $150 to fix. Amazing. I would have guessed multiples of that amount.

This is actually why the R171 uses a hard plastic shell instead of a net. They've also set up the catch so that if it can't complete seat (at the correct height), then it won't stay in place. Can be annoying until one realizes "Oh, I need to shift the cargo"

Sorry to hear about your window though.... ouch!

Yeah, the insurance covered it otherwise the window with installiation was going to be 750$ I had my bowling bag under the flap so I'm guessing it hit one of my bowling ***** and shattered it.
