LSD Doors? thoughts

Yes its the Lambo doors. They cost about 2300 USD and I have no idea on the install.
I noted someone mentioned they liked the scissor look on the doors so I thought mays well ask.

2300USD is a lot of money to pay in order to have your car devaluate 4000-5000USD...

Personally I think it looks terrible - especially after a year or two when everything isn't as nicely aligned anymore...

A fair number of guys do it, and on different makes of cars. I, for one, wouldn't do it; and have never done it to any of my cars....

SLK55///AMG The MONSTER on the block
I'd spend that money on other mods.

greetingz,
Why would such a cool mod devalue the car? I really like the wing-doors to be
honest ....

Because most people don't like them and wouldn't want to hassle with alignment issues periodically. Worse, it's got to affect certain parts of one's warranty coverage, and would be costly to fix if damaged -- though most insurance wouldn't know to ask about something like this, they'll notice it if it shows up on the repair bill.

Personally, if I were shopping for a used car I'd never buy one that had been modded in such a way.

Fair enough. But why wouldn't people like the winged-doors? Is this just a
personal taste thing?

...because the car gets HACKED on...1) the wiring harness from the car to the door gets CUT and EXTENDED with non factory MB parts, non factory mercedes colored wires and radioshack like connectors and then 2) after a while the door won't close properly anymore due to alignment problems and paint comes flaking off due to people trying to force the doors to close...

I have seen several lambo door retrofits in cars which had it done 1 to 2 years ago and most of the doors are dented and paint flakes off due to fitting issues.

HACKjobs devaluate cars.

That and there are a lot of places you cant take the car. IE garages will have to be the right height, you need to be careful hitting ceiling lights in car garages.
