SLK/R171: NO Rear Speakers ! Any suggestions

actually you're both right, sort of.
now for residents of the usa, please remember that there is a place called you-rope and in you-rope-ean countries you can buy the hk package on its own, whereas (and i'm guessing here...) in the states you get various options combined into a package.
does that help any?

Not to forget the bottom half of the globe! Here in Aust. we can pick single options from the list and it not tied into getting "packages".

2005 SLK55 2003 Acura MDX
I have been thinking about a sub for the past five or six month! As far as I know there's no subwoofer(s) in the HK package for US OR CANADA. Only one woofer in each door.
My options are either a flat Sub or a very small (5.25") sub behind the passenger seat, resting on the floor. Pioneer has 10" and 12" flat subs with a depth of 3"-4". Earthquake has 10" flat sub with a depth of less than 3"! Focal's 5.25" is pretty good too. Of Course neither one of them is as good as a monster JL W7 or Soundstream SPL Series. But I think they would get the job down without sacrificing any room.

i do not have that package....but i do have the speakers behind the seats.

350 SLK on waiting list, expected March '05
Suprising cost.
Previously in my Audi I paid a £500 a Bose upgrade, like wise an audio (power + speakers) upgrade in a BMW is less than a £1000 but with the SLK i have to buy an upgraded head unit too!
Hmm so who is going to be the first to install complimentary ICE and document for the rest of us!
