SLK350 Still a Rarity
I live in the Bay Area and it seems like the SLK350 is still a rarity. I have only seen one or two on the streets since the debut of this car and even these days people still look in amazement when I pass by them. Hows the situation like where you guys and gals are located? When I went to the dealer they had told me they were selling them like hotcakes! I wonder where they are all at?

2005 SLK350 Silver w/ Black; 2004 GMC Sierra 2500
Well as you probably guessed by my nickname I live in the boston area, I have only seen one SLK, other than mine that I just got today! And as in your situation its hard to miss the people staring. We have police officers anywhere there is construction and I passed a couple today and got some serious looks. I figured there would be more around to see as well but i dunno.

2005 SLK350
from hawaii...
i got mine during winter break, and i noticed one slk with license plates in the dealership parking lot, and i saw one on the road. AFAIK i had the only manual slk350 on the island at the time i bought the car.
i think there was a total of 10-15 in the state of hawaii at the time i bought the car... quite a few (3 or so) were sitting in the dealership, brand new

I haven't seen any R-171's on the street in the Chicago area. We've been having somewhat typical Chicago winter weather so most of us that have our new SLK's are not driving them much. On the few occasions when I drove my car on the expressways with the top down (45 to 55 F) and the air scarf on, I drew quite a few stares. Spring can't come soon enough for me.

I have seen only a couple of sightings here in Honolulu, might be because we have had some rainy weather and, like me, they have left them in the garage.
The dealer must be selling them as fast as they come in, last I was by there I think only one on the floor.
I agree with previous, when I do go out I get a lot of interest and comments.
Love my car!!!

I live in Pennsylvania, USA. Just before I got my car in late November, I saw two in my area, a launch edition and an Irridium. However, since I got my car, I have seen NONE! It's probably just the crappy weather. My car only has 600 miles on it because of it. Enjoy the exclusivity and the slack jawed gawks while they last because I'll bet you see alot more when the spring comes!

2005 SLK350
I've had mine since September and I saw the first other on the road last weekend. His had 30 day plates. That's about the only nice thing about living in North Carolina. Sometimes I go days without even seeing another Benz... let alone a new one, or a SLK. The only SL in town is my brother's...
Small towns do have some advantages, I suppose... but then again I have to drive an hour and a half for service...

Its kind of nice that it is still a rare car. I live in NY and see them from time to time, however I was recently in Dallas and did not see one in two weeks, but then again they drive SLs there.. LOL

The last time I was at the dealer, they said they have sold 50. I don't know where they all are! We've been having some great weather lately. You would think they would be out in force. I've seen more Boxsters than I have 350's.

MBZ SLK
Last month, I didn't see any on the road. Lately, I've seen alot driving in my neighborhood. 1 SLK55, 2 Iridium SLK350 AMG, 1 black SLK350 AMG, 1 mars red, 4 iridium, 3 black, and 1 orion blue. The way they are selling, I'm not surprise they'll be all over the place next year.

Yep...
Well that's sheep for you
But they are nice cars so no wonder they are selling - after all the old model was popular so the new generation need their toys as well.
