SLK55 Safety Car........
I just got done watching the Canadian GP and there was a fair amount of action for the safety car.
I have to say that the SLK55 that they use looked and sounded great!

I am a big Michael Shumacher fan, but now with a SLK coming, I started pulling for Kimi.

Dan,
I stopped by my dealer on Friday. Looks like my car (and I'm sure your car is on the same boat) will arrive at VPC this Tuesday, June 14th. He's thinking I should see it about 7-10 days later so it looks like two weeks from now, just like you said
Got your wheels yet?

These are really great news. I stopped checking my status, because I felt like I was driving my salesman crazy .
My HRE wheels will probably arrive by the end of July at the latest (Harris updated me last week). It does take around 8 weeks during summer.

Safety car has 030 performance package
All of the safety cars used by Mercedes feature the components offered in the 030 performance package that will soon be availably, plus a few extra goodies not available for us common mortals, I presume. The exhausts do not conform to street regulation. I heard that when they started using the SL 55 as a safety car in 2002 or 2003, a dozen SL 500 buyers heard it at the track and changed their orders to SL 55s!

SLK 230
Amg...
I find it interesting that Mercedes are trying to push the AMG during these races. The medical car was a Mercedes C class (I think it was C - but could have been S) AMG. Nice car though - but i would prefer a F1 car

That car has 200lbs weight reduction (no roof motor), larger radiator & tranny coolers, 19" rims/more rubber, a less restrictive/lighter weight exhaust, reprogrammed ECU for more power & no top speed limitation, etc. Its just lighter, quicker, & has some additional reliability (cooling) mods to cope with high speed driving as the F1 pace car. Those F1s could blow by that SLK like was in reverse, but you already know that .
See ya,
