COMAND S/W Selection via 5-7-3 Service Menu

I finally got around to trying the 5-7-3 secret code to get to service menu.

My screen looks just like this image.

My current selection is the R171_USA as shipped from the factory. Also when it powers on it has the MB logo, not an AMG logo.

I see a selection that is AMG171_USA.

Why isn't that the correct one for my SLK55 AMG?

So far I'm afraid to try and switch.

Has anyone any experience with this?

When I had my car in for the 1,000 mile checkup, they changed to logo to /////AMG. I didn't even have to ax them to do it.

So when you 5-7-3 it, it shows you are in the AMG171_USA mode, or perhaps did they just update your s/w version (to include a AMG logo) in the R171_USA one?

Did you see any differences (beside the boot up logo)?

Sorry, it's 5-3-7 and I tried it

Typed it wrong, the sequence is 5-3-7.

I tried it, and then ran thru all the menus. Seems like the ONLY thing it does is change the boot up logo to ////AMG.

I didn't lose any programing (i.e. did not lose radio stations, did not lose Nav memory locations stored, etc.).

So didn't hurt anything, didn't change much, and didn't give me any spiffy new functions.

I have the same thing on my car. I guess I could change it to AMG mode, but I'm afraid I'll lose my radio presets...

Maybe I'll just try it this weekend *shrug*

I have done this on a 2005 E55 and it changed the screen to AMG (looks cool) and it did not change or loose my radio presets. Now messsing with some of the other options on that screen can cause some things to not work.
