My new DTM style steering wheel
I just finished this custom steering.
In my opinion, grip is better and thicker than stock 55's.
size is smaller than stock.
stock : 380mm
mine : 365
It has flat bottom, d-cut

I will post more pictures of suede steering and all leather steering.
Is there anyone want to see this steering wheel in person around Los Angeles area?
If anyone want, I will bring it. I will stay LA area Nov 6 ~ Nov 14.
At first I wanted the carbon wheel, but I settled on the all leather model since it is probably a better option for aggressive driving. I didn't like how my original 030 package suede wheel aged - hand oils did a number to it so I decided against the suede version.
Basically the steering wheel is a modified stock steering wheel - reshaped between the "9 and 3" section and the "5 and 7" section. Horizontal diameter remains 15 inches, but now the vertical diameter is 14 inches. The wheel is also reformed in a more aggressive way in the hand cut outs, and is also a bit thicker. It is done in an exchange program; as I am using my own triangle section in the middle (including airbag and control buttons), and I am swapping over my own transmission shifter buttons. But I need to hand over my stock wheel for him to modify for the next guy....
The finished product is very well made. The perforated leather feels very nice, soft and thick - arguably nicer and more robust than what MB uses. The perforation patern visually balances well with the carbon fiber trim. The quality of the stitching is very good. The pistol grip section fits and feels great. The weight of the wheel is identical to the stock wheel (since 90% of the hardware is stock) - solid and safe. I hope....

A satisfied customer. I love the look - it really updated the interior - not quite the C63 wheel, but very close and at a small fraction of the price. Also at 6' 4", it is easier to get in and out of the car with the flat bottom.
Here are some photos. Oh, removal and install took about 1 hour. Very easy, but best to have a buddy help. Search links in this forum for tips.
