ID this 07 SLK55 Engine Noise Pls (VIDS ATTACHED)
I recently took my car in for Service B. The car came back from the dealer in San Jose with this engine noise that was odd and that I really don't remember it having before. It is basically a whining noise under slight acceleration. You'll see on the videos.
I took the car to my local SF MB dealer and they found, according to the report, "abnormal wear on pulley also caused abnormal wear on drive belt. replaced drive belt and belt tensioner. recheck ok now."
When I picked up the car from the dealer, we noticed that the noise was still there. I was scheduled to bring it back in today. After today's servicing, they could not find where the noise was coming from and the manager commented that it would be helpful if they had another SLK55 around so that they could compare the noises.
As you will hear/see on the videos, I still have this whining issue. The videos were taken tonight after the last servicing. The car has roughly 24,xxx miles on it. You will see the exact # on the videos.
My questions to those of you with an SLK55 (perhaps an '07 SLK55): Is this a normal noise for your car? If not, have any of you found the source of the problem and could you please provide information concerning how the issue was successfully fixed.
If you have any more questions, want me to poke around a bit, or need another video, please ask.
Thanks in advance.

Video 2: Once again, cold engine, in park, with slight revving: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fyzAjyiVBDo
Video 3: Warm engine, driving using slow acceleration: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SR8JPVircE
The sound didnt really come out well with the driving video.
FWIW, the sound is the same with a warm engine, in park, with slight revving.

Cost me $17 new at autohausaz.
the dealer is at a loss for the issue. the drive belt and tensioner were replaced. i talked to the dealer today and they already removed the drive belt and started the engine. the noise was still there. thus, they ruled out the a/c, p/s, and idler pulleys.
i found this thread https://mbworld.org/forums/slk55-...-your-car.html and was thinking that this may be my issue. the transmission oil pump. i called mb and discussed it with the service manager. he had me email him the link and my videos. he was going to show that to the service foreman and they will follow up with me concerning another appointment.
mb called back and the techs said that my car compared to the link in the vid sounded diff. so there's nothing that they can do at this time.
my plan was to attend the next local slk meet and compare my sound with another slk55.
any other advice? thanks again
