Angry Wanted to take the SLR for a quick ride.....

Well, I went to the garage and tried to take the SLR for a short drive since I've only driven it twice since I bought her on January 11th. Backed it out of the garage and then the problem started.

What problem you ask? Ohhhhh.... how about 12-15 inches of snow and the drive being covered with snow and ice! Since I have some slight uphill slopes in the drive, there was no way I would have made it out of the property.

But... at least I was able to get some decent pics of the car and a shot of its new license plate. I got the idea from the 1953 Marlon Brando movie, "The Wild One". It was about a motorcycle gang terrorizing a small town. I think it fits the cars personality pretty good..... what do you think?

It's supposedly warming up to the high 30s early in the week and then upper 40s by the weekend with a chance of rain Friday or Saturday. Maybe I'll be getting that chance to take her out sooner than I think. Hope you enjoy the pics. Magwheel

Dont be afraid of driving it on snow and ice, if you have a set of winter tyres there will be no issue with esp on.The car is tremendous fun on the snow.
I can understand your reluctance though!

Although I believe, that it's not easy to choose from your 9 cars (7 cars+2 Toyota ), but I can not imagine myself buying an SLR and driving it only two times a month.... How can you stand not taking it out for a ride every day???

Out of all those cars I am betting the Tacoma and the Range Rover are the only ones you can drivein that weather.

stefi, It felt so good to even sit in the SLR since I haven't done that in a while. It is tough to not be able to drive her but there is no way I would take her out in the snow and ice. From what it looks like on upcoming weather reports, I may be able to get her on the road later this week. Mags

trezaei, You forgot about the Toyota FJ! That SUV is fantastic and will go through almost anything. It's amazing how good its traction is with the street style tires on her and how well she stops on snow and ice even without ABS brakes. The dogs love her too!!! Mags

Hey Mag, good to hear from you again. BTW, you're breaking my heart. (kidding)

I had forgotten you promised us a review on the SLR.

Actually, a request: How about a trifecta with the S class, the SL550 and the SLR, since you went off on the MB train? Put those on the front burner for us if it interests you. Always good to hear what you're up to.

Nice pics Mag! The FJ is a dream off road and in the snow. My cousin (who lives in OH) has one too. But his is black.
