This site needs to step it's game up....

Was really active on here many years ago.......just came back. I swear it hasn't been updated since then. I am a regular on the bimmerpost forums, too. That forum puts this one to shame. There is no mobile app for this site.....I mean, it's 2022. The whole site layout is clunky (even on a computer). Today's headline is of a TikTok video with some ghetto redneck lady and a 20 year old SLK she bought used for $3k......I mean this click-bait crap is what makes the front page on here now? It's not a secret why it seems 90% of the model-specific forums on here are dead now.....

In regards to the mobile app part, we are getting there but I guess we have to start from the webpage first... and it is still in BETA:

Yeah this place is such a ghost town versus Bimmerpost. I came from there and it’s like night and day.

A lot of it has to do with some of the members here and unpleasantries that are tolerated by the mods. A lot of times simple questions are met with contempt and ridicule here, especially against newer members who don’t spend a lot of time here. It’s ridiculous.

This place is also extremely hypersensitive to any negative feedback. People take negative comments against MB like someone has insulted their mothers. I’ve never experienced this in any other enthusiast forum. You would think Bimmerpost would be worst, no way. I’ve been attacked and insulted god knows how many times here for expressing my thoughts and opinions. It’s no wonder there aren’t many users here. I greatly enjoyed my time at Bimmerpost during my BMW ownership. I can’t say the same here and I’m sure I’m not the only one.

Fully agree. Reasons for the behaviors listed above fall into the categories of “the truth hurts” and buyer’s remorse. Plus car dealer spin-doctorism which is more prevalent here than on other car fora.

I feel those sentiments. I'm relatively new here, and as a retired technician of 34 years, I am more than happy to share my knowledge and experiences. But every time I do, more often than not, I'm met with attacks for the simplest of things I've shared, especially things I know to be true or documented facts from Technician help sites.

There are a couple of members here that are more aligned to how it should be, sharing information and healthy debate. But as the attacks grow, the less I search though threads for something useful or interesting despite if I want to share anything or not I like reading them, or did.

Like I said I'm retired and miss the work, I can still do some small jobs, I enjoy all of the Mercedes I've ever owned, miss my old E39. But the BMW forums are far more friendly.

I found myself searching for ways to end my membership here today. I started deleting my comments out of frustration, and that is not a good sign.

It's not for myself so much. But someone not knowing the difference potentially taking their car in for warranty service and it being denied because of following the advice of self identified engineers and experts. Last thing I would ever want is to steer someone wrong, I take that to heart, personally.

There is a difference between debate and what I've been seeing. I know I'm no expert or any end all be all. I learn more from my own mistakes or sound advice from others or just making me think twice.

Many are awesome that way, you who I'm talking about too.

Agreed, there are some great contributors on this site. And there are some fragile egos.

Yes there are some most excellent contributors here. I have picked up so much valuable information, and is why I felt the need to give back.
