why do posts require "team approval" all of a sudden?? I've been here for over 20 years and don't recall that happening. I wrote an entire duplicate post because I didn't see the alert saying it was pending approval....

Poor management, poor ownership, and draconian thinking....Likely the continued removal of the internet freedoms we have all been so accustomed to. That censorship enters into a car forum full of IB supported spam and shady vendors just shows the illogical thinking of the company running this forum. Their poor leadership will make this old antiquated platform even less used than it is now. Many posts have become useless without the editing feature (to be used a day or two later) since a word like "cant" could be changed to "can" by auto correct and not seen, making the intent of the statement completely backwards and wrong.. So, filling up this forums with bad info, constantly spamming vendors, and a need to wait for a post are all just icing on the top of the variables killing this platform. Lots of options to freely communicate, this is not the only game in town. I bet the geniuses dont even wind up using a team to approve, but will use the lowest quality free labor or ai.

Probably not a bad word but a string of words or a particular word or whatever algorithm they use. You could try copying the exact post again here for laughs and giggles and I wouldn't be surprised if it will tell you it will be reviewed.

I especially agree with the can becoming can't, that is exactly what happens when I type some of my post.

Forum Alert is an automated account. System-type alerts come from that account and it can't receive replies because it's not a real account that is operated. If you have questions about the community, you can contact an Administrator and/or use the Contact Us form that is found in a link at the bottom of each page.

Regarding the "approve" issue, we use an automated spam management system. It scans all posts for certain criteria and if it is spotted, the post will go into moderation for manual review by staff. When the staff reviews the post and approves it, a message is sent from the Forum Alert account to give notification of the event.

Why doesn’t the forum reveal the triggers for these events, so that we can avoid them? Also, post history should weigh in proportionally to the number of legitimate posts.
In my case that should be a very heavy weighting of over 2100 posts.
Or, is it the case that no one wants to reveal these triggers for fear that spam posters can get around them?

I'm glad I came across this thread, because everything being said here is exactly what I experienced and what ultimately drove me away from MBWorld after a short stint. The moderation system here feels biased, inconsistent, outdated, and unnecessarily restrictive, especially toward members who don't blindly agree with certain voices, follow odd (never explained) rules designed to avoid "auto algorithm bans," or pretend not to notice when "top hierarchy" users jump in with questionable or flat out incorrect logic/misinformation. In my own experience, you simply cannot provide any form of accurate information as a newer member without upsetting certain people or "auto algorithms" who expect their word to override facts when others are genuinely just looking for the truth.
When I initially joined, I was genuinely excited because I'd heard about this forum for years. But seeing the recent "changes," the voiced frustration from long time members, and the declining engagement due to needless and weird algorithms, unfiltered spam, and ego banning because you don't like to be corrected without damaging egos and "authoritative" accounts, it makes everything much clearer... And the feedback from both current and former members lines up perfectly with what I saw in a VERY short time here.

There are plenty of places to discuss these cars freely with other enthusiasts without hoops, gatekeeping, or outdated hierarchies where bringing accurate facts to certain voices gets treated like a threat. If a forum needs to quietly restrict or silence members to protect a few fragile egos, that says everything about why engagement here continues to decline, apart from the 1000000 other ..."reasons".... SOME accounts are being heavily restricted like this. At the end of the day, there are better communities to talk to real enthusiasts, ones that value accuracy over website seniority, transparency over hidden moderation, and open discussion.
