Are all AMG 6 Piston calipers created equal?

hooleyboy managed to installed 2007 SL600 8 Pot Calipers on his C55.. Yuille36 said all 6 pot AMG are the same..
.. & I believe hieracity (I might be wrong as well) installed E63 6 pot calipers as well on his C230 Coupe.. I'm dead confused now..
Can somebody chime in please..

My E63 has 6 piston calipers, where the E55 has 8 pistons. The E63 uses a two piece rotor, as where the E55 used a one piece rotor. I know that the C55 used a 4 piston caliper, and not 6 or 8, I'm not saying that they won't fit. They are allot larger, in fact huge in comparison. You would need a wheel with the proper offset to clear the rotors and calipers, if you managed to fit them. I can see why they wouldn't fit, but you would need the bracket. The C230 utilizes big rotors as is, I can't see why you can't put on 6 pistons, but keep in mind that some models utilizes thicker rotors, and the diameters are larger as wheel. So some wheels will not clear, the brakes. I would definitely call Mercedes for verification, of the possibilty that they will work, make sure it's a technician. Or talk to a independant shop.

From my experience, the clk's calipers have longer arms and take larger rotors... at least on the 4-pot calipers.
Anyway, I've found W209 AMG CLK63 calipers front and rear now from SGMerc. I don't have to worry & search anymore.. but the question regarding the W203 fitting issue with the E63 calipers remains unsolved..
