DIY: Spark plugs and wires (pix)
first things first, removed airbox (pops up) and the tubes to make some room

no airbox in the way=more room

next i'll have to remove the coils to create even more room, but first i'll take some pix for referance just in case i need to see where the wires go back

pretty simple, short wire low, long wire high

using open ended wrench to "easily" remove the baked wire, propping against the valve cover
yes, i told you it's baked

FTMFW? hmmm no

Yeeeeeeeeeees! one coil out 7 to go lol

oh yes coil is held on by one torx T27 nut, almost forgot to mention
this is a good time to clean around areas where no MB tech will, they just don't give a foook about your dust/dirt, just a rumor ;p

prepared my spark plug socket, that extention was a little long for the drivers side so used a smaller one...
good thing to use a little electrical tape on the socket that way you can never drop it, easier to play with it while you remove the spark plugs

flex your muscles

first one is out

hmmm hold on a sec, I thought it's supposed to be 100k right? riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight

junk, trash, garbage
(only 49k on them btw)
wires baked on them, gap pretty big (i don't have a measure device but it does look too big by my eyes), etc. etc.

clean around some more
there you have it, pretty much a breeze just make sure you're careful with your hands around the heat shield on both sides, very sharp ;p
it's not that bad really, i think my X5 was more of a pain this weekend due to less space to work with on the drivers side
so now you may wonder why no pix of installing it back, lol
well my parts are not here yet, waiting on Magnecor wires and new spark plugs to be shipped
Eurosport
Did you replace the ignition coils/wires?
I'm not techie, but MB wanted tons of money for the parts plus several hours of labor to replace both wires and plugs.
Also, they wanted $20/spark plug at MB.
Btw, my Magnecor wires just arrived drop-shipped directly from Magnecor, how great is that!!!

I've had the magnacore wires with NGKs for over a year now and they are great. No issues. I due wish that I bought some heat sheild wire sleaves for added protection before I put everything together. Its very hot and close in there. Looks good.
...I thought the 210 55 used the green injectors like the 43 but I see yellow?
all i can say is damn lol car feels good,
before the plugs change there was a little engine vibration you could see it at idle (and no my motor mounts are perfect ;p)
that is gone, at idle is just very smooth right now
took it for a spin, felt very very good, very responsive, also outside temp might have helped (45F)
i could definitely feel it was pulling a lot stronger though specially between 4k-5k
i don't know how much the wires helped since i did wires/sparks at the same time, i can't comment on them besides, the quality of them is great
and to Ohlord lol and his 100k intervals on plugs, i say bs
that's all

I would recommend these Bosch Spark Plugs...they're the direct replacement for Bosch F8DPER which your owners manual recommends....AND 16 plugs will run you around $85 shipped.

Just noticed this is for an E320....less money for you!

Also, I think the 100K miles intervals is a little too long myself. I had mine changed at 57K miles, and it feels a lot crisper.
spark plugs i usually get them from http://www.autohausaz.com/
