Angry Car been Keyed!! Need new paint Job

SO I thought everything is going well for me. Now I have another problem to deal with, not sure if it a bad problem or a good thing. My Car was Keyed on November 1st at work from front to back, both side and on hood.

This really pissed me off. I have no enemy or can think of anyone who hate me. Not too many people know what I drive. I alway keep it a secret at work. Anyway, just got an estimate to repaint the whole car by Mercedes Benz. $6800 to repaint it. They have to pull every panel & trim off to repaint it. Take them 2 hrs to write up an estimate.

It only cost me $250 deductable to get it repair but still this really pissed me off that someone can do this to another person car. I get pissed off at people all the time but i don't go after them.

I guess i can see this as a good thing, I'm going to my trunk lip spoiler painted and install while they at it I get all the rock chips from my front bumper and hood repainted. Basically a whole new paint job. I won't have my car for 2 week they say.

russian shops down in Pacific can paint a whole car for $800
6800 is a rip off
even if you don't have to pay, someone always pays, insurance now but don't worry you'll be paying that amount back to the insurance eventually
how long do you plan to keep the car? that'd be first question i guess before you even think about repairing it

I plan on keeping it for about 4 more years or until the E63 price drop down to around $50K which ever come first

I'm sorry to hear this Peter. I truly hope Karma gives those jack offs what they deserve...i.e getting run over by a mack truck or city bus.

Dam that sucks i know the feeling. My 4Runner got taged in 2 places down the passenger side i felt so violated i sold it. If i had seen the person that did it i would have shot them.... (in the leg with my .357) It makes me so angry that somone would do it. God knows what i would do if it happens to my Benz.

Sorry to hear that. Just a question. Where you work do they happen to have any security cameras?

I am very sorry to hear about that Peter, it always astounds me what kind of a low life would do such a thing. If your insurance wont spike because of it, I would say have it done at the best place possible if you re keeping it that long.
Best of luck.

I park my car at work right below the building. I thought it would me safer there than out side, but i was wrong. No one here know what I drive. And I have no bef with anyone. I really wanted to beat the crap out of the guy who did this

no camera in the under ground parking lot, suck btu there camera out side. I'm going to park it out side once it fix.

I hope my insurance don't got up to much. Last time my wife Lexus LS430 had about $6000 in front end damage the insurance went up about $38 every six month. I'm already paying about $480 every six months for my MBZ thru State Farm with $250 deductable. Our Lexus is only $450 every six months..

Dang that sucks mang! It's probably nothing personal, maybe someone is just jealous of you and your car. I hope you find out or catch the person who did it!

this reminds me of the time that my car got keyed the first week I had it in LA while parked at a ghetto grocery market. Sux. Good thing mine was an SUV and i really dont' care too much about the scratch since it was rugged and silver.

Another time I was meeting up with a friend's buddy whom I didnt' meet until that day. As the group of us were walking to my car, the guy said, "nice car, I was gunna key that car (rav4)." I shouldn't have given him a ride. What an ***. I wonder if he was serious. He later pulls up in his ford ecco so i felt sorry for him enough that I didn't have to retaliate.

keyed car on a black ride sucks though. glad you got a low deductable and a good attitude about it.

yeah, front of the building is probably safer with more people around than indoor garage.

Sorry to hear that.... be sure you take some pics first before re-painting it.... should be necessary for skeptical buyers when you sell the car in the future.

Saw Peters car tonight. Pretty sweet ride. It really sucks to see all those key scratches on it. Some A hole deserves a serious beat down.

when i sold my car to a dealer (dont ask me why, was in a hurry), they saw deep key marks from my car. They said they had to repaint the whole car but might be able to take it off. they took this tenticles looking spinner thing and used some compound and spun/whacked the body panel that was scratched for about 5 minuted and the scratch came out. The panel was very hot afterwards though. i had no idea what they used or did.
