+1000 Nm Tranny rebuild Pics
Hello old friends, long time no see! ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I thought i'd share a few pics of my new tranny build. It's going to be a really strong 722.6 tranny when it's done.
The old tranny had worn clutch packs on all gears and the friction and steel plates had blue hot spots from slipping.![drive](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/driving.gif)
The new tranny will be a special one where we will put in more clutch pack in every gear (except the rear
). The 722.6 trannys before 2002 has double side friction discs where the newer 722.6 has single side friction discs. So for modding our trannys are better as you can replace a steel plate with a friction disc
I think there will be room for 8 friction discs instead of the stock that holds 6.
Upon that we will do a special valve body that will raise the oil pressure even more then only puting in the blue top solenoids (Putting in blue tops raises the pressure 10 psi alone) In these trannys it's all about pressure so that the clutch packs won't slip upon shifts and WOT.
This tranny is going to be stronger then a S/SL 65 V12 tranny
I'll let you know in a week or two when the beast is out.
Here are some BIG pics (sorry) You can open the links (copy paste) in a new window and they will be smaller![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Almost, there are 6 discs and 6 steel plates in each pack. So we are replacing 1 or 2 of the steel plates in each pack to a thinner one, and that way we can fit 2 more friction discs in there.
