This is the coolest W210/S210 I have seen EVER! Keep up the work and updates!
Any tips on running an electric fan? I bought a S210 electric radiator fan and will probably play with that for a little bit. The thermo clutch is no fun on 430.
Soooo question is...go for N/A 55 swap or this monster, very complicated but this awesome one of a kind 55K swap?
Thanks!

hmn ... in my car the ME2.8 Motorelectrnoics controll the fan, i dont know if the E430 electronic are capable of controlling an electric fan. You could check via Star Diagnosis.
N/A 55 Swap -> 1 Day
S/C 55 Swap -> at least 1 Month ...
choose for yourself

Anyone have a good source for Star Diagnosis? There are some on eBay but probably copies. Perhaps a source in Germany as I will be traveling in a few weeks.
N/A 55 swap look so simple to do and would be cheap upgrade...later kleemann supercharge.
S/C 55 swap is all about the rare factor and POWER!
I assume there are more mods available on the market for the S/C 55 because of the w211 AMG.
Anyways, keep updating! This is an awesome project and love the amount of knowledge being passed back and forth! Perhaps I will join in some time soon when I start my....adventures

Modelyear 2001 has ME2.8!
I bought a "StarDiagnosis" for cheap and spend A LOT OF TIME to get used to the software installation. SD hardware in Germany ... no way. Mercedes official dont sell these, so i guess every "private" sd is a china copy.
N/A Swap is easy as you have ME2.8. For a complete swap you need: Engine, Transmission, Brakes, Shaft, Differential, ME2.8, Coolerpackage, Engine Hood for the changed airbox and the airbox of course. AMG Cluser and AMG Bumperpackage if you like ... but no need too if you dont like...
If done this last Wednesday in one day with a friends car ... with some beer, bbq and a lot of talking it took 10h.
S/C Swap is a LOT(!!!) more work
Actual my car is away until friday, I bought a new exaust system including a exaust flap

Thank you for the input, I'm going to wait until the end of summer before I start doing any work so will have to think out strategy.
I'm quite interested in the exhaust your doing as well! Update once you have something :p

'99 E320 Wagon
You just did everything I wanted to do to my wagon. Now, since the "originality" point has been missed, I will look for something else to do. Maybe a bicycle with rocket engine?!? What?! Already done? Fudge, I'll give up and ride a beemer.
In all seriousness, been taking notes and now I am on the fence if I should keep mine, or pick up this rare '99 E55 wagon coming in here with only 120000 km and then go bananas on that engine/tranny combo until it warrants a new one.
Subbed, amazed ...kudos mein Freund
Auf Wiedersehen,
Marius

Thanks guys
My car is still at the exaust shop, they have problems to find a suitable exaust for 89mm diameter in and 2x 65mm out on ONE side. i dont want a W211 style exaust on my w210 so it has to be 2 exaust pipes on the left side and not 2x2 like all actuall AMGs.
Hopefully i'll get it back tomorrow ... i am as much excited as you guys are

'99 E320 Wagon
I'm thinking of doing this to my W210 wagon, but still researching what should be best. I think best option is change the entire power train with new ECU and all that, if you have the parts and they are complete and functional.
Can you tell me anything about price or compatibility?

W211 Engines wont fit in the W210 Engine bay as the oilpan is totally different. If you take a w211 as donator you have to change oilpans and oilpump. I would suggest to search for a w220/w215 as donator.

The W211 Oilpan is splited in front and rear, the nozzle of the oilpump is in the REAR part but where this is the W210 has its steering column. The w211 had its steeringbox in front of the axle, the w210 has it behind. There is absolutly NO WAY to make this fit.
The W220/W215 Oilpan also doesent fit, it is around 7-8cm more in front of the car... you have to convert the front axle bearer so the engine would fit, check my pictures in this thread, there you can see how i converted the the whole axle bearer.
You can mount the M113 oilpan on a M113K but the oilpump doesent fit, and the oilpump of the M113 doesent fit the M113K Engine Block
Package arrived?

Look, I'll probably be the first law school dropout to become a Mercedes tech/business owner just because I realized office jobs are really not made for me. I like to work with my hands, I like honest people and I am sick of corporate BS.
Now, back to the w210. Should I just stick with the power train from an E55 1999-2001? E55 sedan for example? Change headers, put a supercharger or something?
I don't know enough yet, it began as a hobby and it's about the metamorphose into something more
The W220/215 body, is the year of any consequence, or we're just talking about the engine shape and issues?

If you want to make it like I did with Speedshift, M-Mode etc. you'll need to change Engine and Transmission.
The Transmission used in the W210 E55 is no Speedshift Transmission and i would prefer using a stock supercharged engine then placing a S/C on a N/A engine.
W220/W215 as of modelyear 2003 can be used, up to the are only N/A M113 like yours, as of the are supercharged.

So 2003 to 2009 or newer?
Engine, tranny, rear differential will need other gears ...but to be honest I'm looking forward to this like a kid to prom night.

I think cause the oil cooling system (the w211 comes with fan cooled intercooler for the engine oil, and separete the first oil/water cooling system from the W210 113) maybe needs to move lots more oil and faster?

Hi Fabio,
Nice to hear you mate, Thankss for ask..,
That's good info., i didn't know about that before..,,
can we say that it's a good upgrade to N/A M113, or does NOT need more oil during starting or high RPM....??

If you do the upgrade from 320 to 55 ...
Should be good enough for a couple of years!

The Oilpump auf the S/C Engine dont fit the N/A Motorblock mechanicaly, the mountings are different. So in my opinion it doesent matter if these have a higher flow rate ... as they dont fit the S/C Blocks you also could as if a Golf R32 Oilpump has larger flow rate, they also wont fit the S/C Engine
Actual Status on my car is:
Dyno: I only gained 496HP and 761Nm and the power decreases on 5.500rpm drasticaly to around 360HP. My guess is missing fuel pressure as no error was in the ECU after the Dyno.
When i get my car back tomorrow i will measure the fuel pressure and make some changes to the fuel system. Maybe installing a Bosch 044 Pump and deleting the electronicaly Fuel Preasure thing ... we will see. I am sure I will find a solution to this.
Short vid of the Dyno run:
greetings,
Actual Status on my car is:
- Exaust almost finished, i brought my car back to the shop for some rework on the exaust system as i am not happy with a few things. Hopefully i'll get it back tomorrow evening.
- New Brakepads
- raised the rear springs from 1-dot rubbers to 3-dot as my car scratches the tires on full throotle.
- Mounted a SLK55 Cooler to the differential
- installed the Exaust Flap depression Lines and wires to a switch. Exaust flap could be closed, opened at set to "auto" to be controlled by the ECU. This had to be tested if it makes any sense or if it is just crap. After that i will install a switch on the original "ADS" Switch Position (right side next to the gear shifter) with 2 or 3 positions ... depends on the test of the "auto" setting. Hopefully the controlling of the exaust flap by the ECU i nicely balanced ... W210 with automatic exaust flap would be awesome
- 1st large cleaning of the interior has been done yesterday ... *phew*
- i did a dyno run.
