Some small updates
greetings, Fabian
- Exhaust is almost finished, i need a little re-allignment of the tailpipes and some welding lines need to be finished and polished ... will be done next week i think.
- I installed a Bosch 044 Fuel Pump but will also add the Pierburg directly behind the fuel filter ... i hope the fuel pressure problemes are gone then.
- I installed a AMG Cooler on the Differential
- Last but not least the left Header was bend over. I flattned it on the cutter and reinstalled it ... hopefully it will be tight for years now
- Hopefully next week I am ready for the next Dyno run... without Powerloss

As i bought the headers directly at kleemann DK I of course told them my problems with the left header.
Claus (CEO) from Kleemann DK got in contact with me and offered me a huge discount on cams as i told him that i am planing to install cams after everything else is done.
So i only could say ... hopefully this doesent happen again to the headers, but kleemann itself has acted totally correct and nice.

I used an 5mm thick "L" Aluminium Plate, cleared the Area around the 3 lower Screws and mounted it to that diffcase screws, the cooler itself is mounted with 2 screws to the "L" Plate.
It is the Cooler from the SLK55.
The diff cover from the SLK55 wont fit the W210 rear axle so i had to improvise

No way to do so ... the Fueltank is even closer to the ground then the cooler.
The Cooler is aprox 5cm thick ... you should have no problem with that. Even my Exhaust system is closer to the ground then the Cooler
The Cooler costs around 65 Euro in Germany ... It was only used on W203 C55 and R171 SLK55

I had problems with my left header as well. Mine is the earlier style with 4 separate flanges. Surprised to see they are still having problems with the new one piece style.

Hmn ... the problem in the first place was that the steering column had contact with the header in sharp left corners. I told Kleemann my Problem and Claus told me to take a aprox. 2m long pipe, stick it in the header pipe and bend the header 1cm to the left so there can be no contact to the steering column. That seems to be a common problem with the headers and the w210 steering setup.
I am thinking about that this "action" could also bend the flange of the 8th cylinder ... but as the winding of the exhaust bold on the cylinderhead was still ok i doubt there could be anything wrong because of that bending.
i drove around 250km with the flattned header and still no problem, hope it stays this way

MB using this cooler only for R171 SLK55, C55 doesn't,
i done a diff. cooler with my previous E60, used a trans. cooler with fan from W140 (its almost similar with SLK55's), with custom hoses & fittings & Tilton oil pump,
put & mount the cooler with pump in spare wheel,,
unfortunate i didn't pictured that set-up...!!

A little critic, I wonder if the lower front air dam of the E55 can be fitted to the E430. I like the AMG front better then the regular W210. The opening at the bottom is much bigger then the regular one too and IMO would give a better air distribution to the engine.

I got a few serious intake air temperatur problems on the speedway so i start to investigate them today. embarrasing ... i connected in and out of the radiator the wrong way so the vent connector, of course on the return line, was on the inlet line ... not good for real water pressure in the air cooler ... this is now correct and everything works fine. de-airing the whole system with a pierburg CWA Pump is a real pain in the *** :/
Next thing was a rattling noise while driving, unfortunatelly my original AMG rear kats where defect. i removed the defect one and will install 200cpsi metall kats the next days.
Last but not least ... SLR Injectors where installed.
After all: a absolut new driving expirience
Injectors...
8x SLR Injectors
Detail
6 holes insted of 4...
removing the rail
nothing done
half done
DONE!
and reinstalled...
