Be sure to empty oil asap else the seals inside will go and every time you pump, the oil will escape through the breather hole at the top of the handle and make a huge mess.
There's a quick fix http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=336593
Getting ready to change my CPS, looks to be PIA, C43 access is easier. Also doing front brakes over the weekend.
edit: so got the CPS out, not as easy as on the C43 - used a 3 + 6 extension, and flex ratchet...

Curb rash
How do you get the curb rash out? I have some seriously severe cuts on the lip. Without bring it to a shop, can you do this yourself? I'll take some pictures later to show you guys.

Did plugs and air filter today. Wires were in excellent shape, so reused them.![drive](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/driving.gif)

Thanks for the link. My mityvac has some oil coming out when I try to pump up the vacuum. I'll have to fix it. What I did was put an old towel next to the vacuum hole so the oil split will not hit the car or any other spot...yeah if this can easily fix the problem, I am definitely getting this done this week as I plan on doing an oil change soon.![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

Saw driver front tire buldging. Also have been noticing steering is a little off. Tonight noticed a camber effect on driver front tire. Found this wonderful situation.
Should be a $100 or less, 45-60 min DIY, I pray....

New lower control arm and ball joint installed. Today got my crap Toyo's off the fronts, moved the 2 Bridgestone protenza's to the front (245/40R18's on the back wheels...idiots!). Purchased 2 Cooper Tire Zeons for the rear, correct size. Still have a slight pull to the right but not bad. Will most likely get an alignment soon.

Today, realigned front end. Masking tape, string, 2 adjustable wrenches, and a floor jack. About 45 minutes including test drive.

Finished installing 3/4 of my springs, I ran out of time on Sunday. Will install the last front spring tomorrow.
I like the way the rear sits hopefully the front will sit lower when it settles.

Got a little crazy today and removed the lower oil cooler. Put a bypass stainless steel hose and welded two 12an fittings on the factory oil line. Did this to make room for a custom made 27" by 8" by 2.5" intercooler. Cooler is NOT a bar and plate style and looks just like the factory cooler fin type but MUCH bigger. Made it a dual pass as well with a drain plug for summer/winter fills and has a fill plug on top. Cooler is completely boxed in so the air has no where to go but through the cooler. This alone makes a HUGE difference in temperatures. All in all spent $130.00 on the whole thing and is better..in my opinion , than the coolers sold today due to its size. Just took time to weld it together.

Did the front brakes and rotors today, too lazy to mess with the bearings and the felt solid....brakes & rotors cost just over $210 me thinks. Used the C240K rotors and abk' pads....car stops on a dime....this is a daily driver now..
probably do a transmission and radiator flush next.....

Were you having issues with ride quality or just figured it was time for some fresh coils? I have considered replacing my shocks and springs but the ride seems comfortable so I don't see why I should, even though I am still running the original Bilsteins and coils.

In addition to the plastic being brittle, the rubber along the top of one piece was almost gone and completely gone on the other side.
For my 2002, the left side part number is: 210-831-09-58. The right side part number is: 210-831-10-58. They are between $20-$25 each online.
The old one is on top and you can see the rubber is mostly gone except a small section on the left, and it is falling apart.
They are held on with one screw and simple to install.
