Does anybody out there have new original factory wheels for a 05 e55 hanging around.I just got new tires and when they aligned them they put nice small dings in each one.I am a perfectionist and I want them perfect. Can anyone help?

tire nicks

Shouldn't the installer be responsible for replacing or repairing the wheels?

They are small nicks but big enough to bug me.What ever instrament they use for aligning made the same marks on all 4 wheels.

1. Check the classifieds / for sale forum
2. Is this from the dealership or other?? Shouldnt need one right away (well, it will never get fixed, pull to right). All 4 of my wheels were scracthed in th same exact spot on each wheel. The dealer replaced them all no cost. Even gave me michelins instead of the crappy contis (swapped with another car I'm sure). So check with your dealer first, if thats the case. You shoudn't be responsible either way.

Are they small circular scratches/indents on the spokes? I have these on all four wheels also and I'm getting another alignment within the next few weeks so I'm sure I'll get more. I doubt, however, that my dealer will just give me four new wheels at my request. How'd you get 'em to do it?

No they are not on the spokes, they are right were the tire and rim touch.Difficult to see but when looking closely they are visible. The machine they use to align is a fork like piece that fits between the tire and rim. When they put it in or take it off they will scratch your rim unless they are very careful. It was my fault because I did not warn the guy to be ultra careful.I have now learned a valueable lesson.

Yes, thats exactly it.. all the same distance from the central hub in a radius-like movement.. about a 1" groove, 3/16" wide or so. Fairly deep, more like a gouge. There's no way I could have done that on my own, they were all identical on each wheel. I have pics somewhere if you need proof that this is an existing problem.

I hear you loud and clear - I have the exact same problem. What I need to know is how you got a new set of wheels. There's no doubt about the fact that I will mention something next time I go in, but is there any sort of policy or warranty that I can use to substantiate my claims?
