Question re changing nav screen to AMG
I did the 3-5-7 trick and changed the first menu selection from USW211 to AMG211, and I now get the AMG screen when the unit is powered on. But that is immediately followed by the "warning" screen that I used to get--is that normal? I thought changing it got rid of the warning screen, but maybe it just stuck the AMG logo in ahead of it.

The warning screen is a standard on all W211. Definitely nothing abnormal about it. The 5-3-7 trick does not rid the warning screen. Don't worry, mine does so too.

At least we don't have to push "OK" to acknowledge the warning everytime like the Lexus/toyota system. Somebody should sue those lame lawers for finger cramp.

Please excuse my ignorance, but what is the 3-5-7 trick?

1.) Turn on your COMAND, hit Audio, then CD
2.) Now on your numpad, press and hold '5', then press and hold '3' and '7'... a screen should come up with a list
3.) Select the I think W211US_AMG or somethign similar
4.) Turn off your ignition or COMAND for about a minute or two, then turn it back on
5.) You now should have the AMG logo appearing in place of the Mercedes-Benz logo
Hope that helps.

It's totally distractive having to worry about the ok push to acknowledge the warning.
Good thing MB eliminated the silliness.

So your E55s don't come with the AMG logo already programmed in?
I know some E500 folks are changing them to show the AMG logo, but I figured the E55 came with it from the factory.

I think it should stay longer. It pops up for a second and then its gone. What would be cool though, is if the COMMAND screen entered a sleep mode when it was inactive and the ///AMG logo was the screen saver. Then again, it probably would get pretty annoying...
