Inexpensive wheels that look GREAT
i am in jacksonville texas and a proud owner of a very fast 2003 amg e55 (11.50 @ 119mph dragtimes.com)..
after curb checking both right side wheels on my car i started looking at wheels... i wanted a wheel that looked like the factoy wheel but with a little lip.. i looked at the wheels on tirerack.com that look a lot like these and was going to buy them.. but they said that the 18" wheels would not fit on the E55 because of the large calipers but the 19" would.. but i didnt what to go that because i would then need to buy 19" tires... so after lots of looking around i finally found these... they fit perfect.. 18x9 rear 18x8 front.. polished lip... and the best part $675/set for the 18" they also come in chrome and other sizes too... 17"-20".. no they are not AMG wheels... they weigh almost the same only one pound more... they are very strong... i have made lots of passes on them at the track with several 1.60's 60' times with no harm done..

2003 E55 Techtite over Blue Leather.
Frankly:
With all due respect, I don't think they look all that great! I much prefer the stock 18" wheels. They look every bit the $675 price! I don't agree with the motivation to skimp on one of the most important components of a car like ours. It's been said before, "if you got the coin for an E55, you can definitely afford proper wheels & tires"
Just my two cents worth!

E 63S Wagon Renntech, E55 Renntech, SL65, SL 55 030, ML, bunch of old ones--they come, they go...
The above posters are right...
and although I hate to say it, they do look darn good in the 19" size. I'm not so sure that the quality is less than the OE stuff either. Based on how many OE MB wheels I've seen out of round in the last couple years.....

Fake or not, if they weigh the same as the real-deal AMG's and they look the same, I find it EXTREMELY difficult to justify the 400+% price difference.
I don't care about brand name, I just want the looks and the performance.
If the 19s are only $100-250 more than the 18s that this guy has, you can buy a full set for less than the price of ONE AMG wheel.

If someone has enough $$$ to purchase an $80k car (mostly $90k+ w/ options), why the heck would you put some cheap wheels on the car? I still don't get it sometimes...
That's like...I have a $8k Rolex with all cubic zirconium...WTF?

It did not take much research to find out these are AMG replica wheels from tires.com. Do a search on that web site for our cars and it will come up at approx $125 per wheel. For a drag tire I think these wheels would be ideal.

"Does this car get good gas mileage? Oh and I'll take an OLEX to go with this car".
Just kidding. I was never really a fan of "brand name" per say when it came to wheels. I just opted to go with HRE's because the style fit my taste. If there was a knockoff brand that had good styling and good quality, I'd buy em. It's kinda like Louis Vuitton sneakers vs Nike...wait, LV's are actually pretty comfortable but say Prada Sneakers vs Nike, Pradas are about as comfortable as wooden sandles, but hey we buy em cuz of personal taste in style...I KNOW THEY DON'T BUY EM CUZ OF COMFORT.
If dwtboss wants to push those wheels, more power to him and I hope he sells a boatload of em! Free enterprise, so what if they're knockoffs or whatever, if it meets someone's "requirements" then why not?

damn, those look cheap. I'd rather roll on curbed stock AMGs. I love the stock E55 wheels.
