that guy is jokes hahaha nice write up...
"It’s a good job this car has so much power because by the time you’ve set it up for the journey that lies ahead you’re already very late. "
" M5 " has become what " Cadillac " was 50 years ago in terms of a general descripter . Back then " it's the Cadillac of washing machines ( or watches )" was a compliment . Now " it's the M5 of laptop computers ", etc. confers the same sense of setting the leading edge .
LoL

"Happily, by this stage I knew where I was so I thought, “Okay, I’ll turn the sat nav off.” Well you can’t. It doesn’t matter what button you press, she continues to give her instructions over and over again until you want to bludgeon her and her family to death with an axe. Even if you pull over and turn off the engine, she lies in a state of suspended animation, waiting to spew electronic diarrhoea all over the ****pit when you set off again. "

On this week's episode of Top Gear, he showed off his new Ford GT and he has/had a SL 55 that I've seen on previous seasons.

Why don't you visit the BBC America website and request Top Gear? Here is a link to the request page... http://www.bbcamerica.com/about/cont...suggestion.jsp
If enough of us do it, they may consider adding the show to their US lineup.

i've seen him like others a lot - like the mclaren I know that, it was meant as a small joke. I also know he has a SL and the new GT40.
He is a funny guy ( sometimes), but very few regard him as a serious source of information
I have seen his review of the McLaren F1 as well, and he is probably the ONLY one driven it that was not impressed by it.......
hmmm....
Perhaps you guys got carried away from all his humor but forgot about the last lines in the article:
"In the last five miles of my journey I discovered that deep beneath the layers of utter and complete electronic nonsense, and the rather ugly body, there’s one truly amazing car.
Just when I was thinking that BMW had made yet another car for yet another software consultant, it did something I really wasn’t expecting.
It became a full-on M5. And praise doesn’t come higher than that."
And praise doesn't come higher than that? does that include the CLS he recently tested?

Watch the TopGear CLS-AMG video:

He likes the CLS more then the M5 so it seems (not that he compared them; but he is more optimistic about the Merc)...

Jeremy picks the M5 over the Ferrari F430. The CLS does not come close.

Power is nothing without control....That's why I less and less like bimmers & mercs..... somehow, they unintentionally try to take the beauty of driving away.... so many gadgets.... so many electronics... so little time to enjoy the car immediately..... don't they know? We, or may be just I, just want to have a simple yet powerful car? I just need to sit, turn it on, put the transmission in "D" or "1", floored the throttle and wooooooosssssshhhhhh....

You might be right though, I just skimmed through that car. The review wasn't that nice. And on the track, the car looked out of control.

I wonder what car MikeHK has or is getting. :p
I think you should take 3 "settle down" pills and call us in the morning.
Where's our fat forum member when we need him? I'm sure kripsyblimp has some words of wisdom for us all.

Hes right though. Mercedes quality is shi*t these days. If I could afford a car worth over 100K and it had quality issues I'd flip out. If Lexus could be #1 in quality an customer satisfaction, why can't mercedes with all their resources?

Well, please go back to his F430 review and consider how highly he rated the Ferrari, the M5 is surely something really special in my opinion.
