TIPTRONIC Pedals...

Here's the question, on CLK DTM they have big steering pedals to switch gears, why dont they make them on production cars? Or as option?

True, but Mercedes is always unique and different apart from others and you know that.

Pedals or PADDLES???? Pedals are controlled by FEET. Paddles are controlled by HANDS.

I'd take paddles, but honestly, I don't shift my self even with the stick in manu-mode.

I prefer to just put it in Sport mode and let the computer do it.

MB doesn't have a true manual, it's an auto (read: torque converter) with some manual control. Ferrari, BMW, Audi and even Toyota, have true manual transmissions for their sequential shift cars (proper clutches actuated by the computer).

It would be cool to see MB develop a manual that can handle the HP/TQ of an AMG engine, but based on the complaints I've heard about most of these no-clutch-pedal manuals in auto mode, it doesn't really fit the mission of the car. I saw a test of a Maserati Quatroportte and they were complaining that the car was very lurchy and not smooth in traffic when using the SMG.

The reason the Maserati one sucks is because it isn't properly setup.
The MR2 (Toyota) and BMW's SMG are perfectly fine in traffic IMO.
