Question Iforge Daytona rims

Thinking about getting Iforge Daytona rims, anyone have them? Anyone know how much rubber can fit on a 10.5 inch rear rim? I have 275s on the stock 9.5s now. 285 PS2s are on national back order.

What will the rear wheel wells allow for w/o rolling fenders or serious mods to the panel?

thanks

You can put every bit of a 295 onto a 10.5 rim. I'm not sure you could get your sidewall ratio to work out with that width though. As far as max under the wheel well??
I really don't know, that depends on your offset as much as anything.

thanks for the info...this is what I was told by iforge...sounds wrong. I know the OEM rears are 265s and I think the fronts are 245s....

<<no your stock on e55 is 245 front and 275 rear from mercedes not 285 and 255 ... 255 is too wide for front ..245 is max front 285 rear is max ..no way 295 or 305 ...massive body modifications ...

I ordered a set of Daytonas in 19x9 front and 19x10 rear fitment. When I asked if they could do 10.5" in the rear, they told me it would be risking it and that they would not be responsible for fitment. I will be running 245/35/19 front and 285/30/19 rear. I will report back in a few weeks when I receive them. Also, are you sure the rears are 9.5" wide? Everything I have read indicates they are 18x9.

You've read correct : stock split spokes are 8x18 ET30 Front and 9x18 ET39 Rear.
If you are using 9" Front, get a 255/35/19 tire. The 245 will need to stretch too much and won't look good, leaving unprotected rim to scrub the curbs..
For the rear, 10" is good with 285/30/19 but make sure that the offset is not less than ET38, or your tire wall will rub at the trailing edge of the rear fender, the sharp point where the metal meets the plastic bumper.

I appreciate the input, but it's all worked out already. I have run 245/35/19 on 19x9 wheels already on my other cars with no problems. While this does stretch the tire a little more, its within the range of fitment. Due to the smaller sidewalls of 19s, there wont be much protection gained by going to a 255 anyway. As for the rear, I will actually be running a 275 to start with, since i have a spare set of 19" tires laying around, but I will probably do the 255 and 285 when i burn through them.
As for a 10.5" rear, I believe it is possible, but you would want to stick to a 275 tire so as to avoid the sidewall hitting the inside fender under compression. However, the tire looks a lot wider than 275 when its stretched this way and it's still within mfg's specs.

ok thats good to know that I should be looking at a 275 rear tire. I guess the question is shall i tell iforge that I can only go with a 10.0 rear rim and not a 10.5? I think 275s on a 10.5 rim would be way too small.

VRUS has 295's on his 10" rear wheels with no rubbing according to him. It all depends on the offset.

He also has 19x9 in front, according to his signature. This helped me decide to order 19x9 in front as well.
This 5-6 week wait for my wheels is gonna kill me!!!

That is going to be sweet! Be sure to post some pics. Do you have a 4-6 week wait as well?

Congrats,

Darren

Cool!! Where'd you get the weight info from?
I went with 19x9 and 19x10 in anthracite finish. Still a few weeks out.

www.iforged.com They list it on their site.
Well maybe not for the Daytonas, but I'm sure that if you called they'd give you the weights.

none
I have the Daytonas on my Sl.. you can fit a 305/25/20 on a 10.5 wheel but that wouldnt work on your E.
Id go with Nitto or Conti's for tires, most other tires look stretched or have a rounded sidewall which looks like *** IMHO.

Houston has the same setup, I believe: 255/35/19 and 295/30/19. Let's ask them what their F & R offsets are on those 19" CCW wheels. Guys?

Nittos and Contis? Good Lord, do you ever drive your car or do you just look at it?
PS2 is the only tire worth having, and it looks great too!

Have you ever actually tried Nittos????
I do agree on the Contis, though.

Your car looks very nice with the Daytona's. Yeah you are right, we actually did 10.5 on a 305 for a CLS a while back, and recently iFORGED did 305 on a 11 for another CLS (its posted around here somewhere). However the Eclass platform is not that aggressive.
