04 E55 traction control
Hi I purchased an 04 e55amg new and since day one I can't figure out how to turn off the traction control. I can not even spin the rear tires with ESP off and in the sport mode any ideas? It seems everyone else posting here can do a burnout and I have been a drag racer for years so am I missing something I don't want to ask the dealer for obvious reasons.

um, 2 ways, i can turn esp off and stomp on it it will burn out as long as i stay in it wich leads to a john force type burn out(totally awesome!) or do a search on how to put it in dyno mode wich defeats all traction control. esp only turns off engine management part the brakes will still be applied to any wheels spinning.

05s and 06s have been known to have the computer kick in when trying to spin the tires.

Wow.. this is crazy. I was about to post the same thing.
No matter what I do my 06 CLS55 will refuse to do a burnout.
ESP off.. mash gas and I just get a little and then its off. I tried holding the brake down and getting on it and it does the same thing. The computer kicks in and stops the burnout.
I want to goto the 1/4 mile, and was wondering if its really necessary to clear off your back tires before running.

My '06 is a little fussy about brakestand burnouts, but with ESP off I can smoke 'em like crazy. Dyno mode should make burnouts effortless on ANY year E55 ('03 - '06)
