2006 AMG Challenge
Does anyone know the schedule or price of the 2006 AMG Challenge. I really wanna trash a E55 that is not mine Wolf

The best way to find out about the 2006 AMG Challenge is to sign up to receive a email by going to www.mbusa.com or the AMG Center. You will be able to select preferences (receive a email on anything AMG) and the day they make the announcement you will receive a detailed email. Because these events can sellout quickly you need to take the time to do this if you really want to go. Last year I received 2005 AMG Challenge email in February.

Having done 2 challenges, one way is to sign up the day that you receive the email (after the first day, all spots will likely be filled and a waiting list begun).
A better way is to monitor this site: http://www.mbevents.com/intro.asp and watch very carefully for when it changes to AMG 2006 Challenge in February. This occurs before the invitations even go out
Then, you need a working invitation code (since yours hasn't arrived yet). For the last two years the generic code has been AMG222. Try that one in February 2006!

I went to the one in Fontana last year, I want to try other locations. I know there was a session in Las Vegas last year. Where else do they hold them? Wolf

In addition to Fontana and Las Vegas last year, they offered events at Homestead (Miami), Elkhart Lake, WI (Road America) and Lakeville, CT (Lime Rock Park). I did Road America and absolutely loved it - great track!
They do switch venues around from time to time, so no guarantee they'll be the same in 2006. I'd REALLY be happy if Road Atlanta was added (25 minutes away).

I am digging this thread up from the grave ( If I broke any MBWorld rules sorry Ricky) as I was reviewing my Amex bills from 2005 and noticed on 2/12/05 I paid $1195 for the 2005 AMG Challenge. It is now 2/9/06 and no one knows zip about 2006? This is killing me. Wolf

From the AMG web site:
You enjoy sporty driving. And you like the out-of-the-ordinary. That’s why you chose an exceptional car. You also relish a challenge, particularly one that takes you to the limit. So the chances are that AMG Driver Training will be right up your street. On selected racing circuits, all of them challenging, and under the professional guidance of experienced test drivers and racing drivers, AMG Driver Training allows you to gain a whole new perspective on your vehicle’s capabilities. You’ll also be able to measure your prowess as a driver. The focus at AMG Driver Training events is not on setting new lap records but on developing increased awareness of potential risks, staying out of danger and maintaining control in critical situations. In short, it’s about putting your passion for sporty driving on an even safer track.
Please check back here in FEBRUARY 2006 for details on the 2006 sessions!
My guess is any day now, since it is now February.

Mailing list .... too late, usually.
Keep checking the 2005 URL until they make it 2006. Then try AMG222 code. Worked for many last year ... and mailed invites came a week or more later.

Some limited spaces opened up last year at the Road America and Lime Rock venues when early reservations were cancelled. I booked early, thanks to tjcMBE55AMG's tip (even before I got my email invitation), and had no problem getting two reservations.
