Video in motion & MP3 enabled Command

I have eur command as well but think it only works on new look command system (widescreen version) - i.e. the ones with buttons on side of sceen.

Thats the one I have but it wont work for me. I tried # * < and holding down the buttons for a while but nothing happens?

THE ABOVE INSTRUCTIONS THAT STEVEBEZ POSTED ARE ONLY FOR EURO COMAND UNITS. IF you have not swapped them out, then there is no point to mess with your unit, US comands will not get video! ! ! !!! !

03 e55 - cmd2.0 or no? mp3/ipod infc?
Hello, I have been lurking here for a while but this is my first venture into posting here, so hello to you all. 
I was wondering if the 03 e55 has Command 2.0 and if it does, am I able to make it play MP3 cds. 2manytoys, you say that the commands are for the euro version, but then only mention the video, are you saying that the video is only euro, or both the mp3 and the video are only euro?
Also, is there any way to make the radio (non-nav) play mp3 cds or interface with my ipod?
Any and all input would be helpful as I am buying the car in the next few days and depending on the answers, I will get one car or another.

1. Enable video in motion
2. enable MP3 function ( Euro version MP3 function is disabled from MB)
3. enable all region DVD's to play in the headunit. (only euro disks is standard)
Basically:
Video is only in Euro comand
Sat is only in US comand
Mp3 is in both(but must be enabled in Euro)
Ipod question, I will let someone else handle.

awesome thanks for the quick reply i just got back from a dealership, asking them similar questions and i swear, most of the sales people just don't know anything about their cars. 
So MP3 playback is enabled on the US Command 2.0 systems? Do you know if the non-command will read mp3 cds?

Hi, thanks for the tips in getting into the Engineering menu and the 3 hidden soft keys. My wife's W211 E320 now has DVD in motion activated.
I have a few questions :
1. Does anyone know what the following features are for once you press the "Backd" softkey :
a. LCT Feature ?
b. Holland MMI feature ?
c. IPS Feature ?
2. Does anyone here get the "Caution: Using Command must not divert your attention from road and traffic" which follows soon after the logo appears on the screen on start up ? If so, does anyone here know how to disable that screen, so u get either the logo as screensaver or logo then whatever mode (say Radio) and bypassing the "caution" screen altogether ?

I managed to enter the engineering mode (it needs almost 5 secs of pressing the 3-button combination - that is what I did wrong!!).
According to the info, the firmware and drivers were installed on 6-2004. Unfortunately, I didnt find anything concerning Mp3 and DVD playing.
All the key combination I have found (eject, answer, middle soft button, / #, *, <) none of them revealed any other secret menu. Appart from 3,5,7, which made my comand crash!! I have the European Version (bought in Germany) -widescreen- Comand Aps on a so-called 2005 model C230 sportcoupe evolution AMG.....
Do u have any idea at all???? What is the next step to activate Mp3 playing???? You can even PM me!!

Does anyone know what is the part number for the upgrade disk for C class (203) navigation (2005 models). After having checked for a long time, I realized that, since the software is dated 04-2004, I need an upgrade first. Only then, can I enter the second level of the secret menu (1rst: engineering menu, which is accessible 2 me), which enables me to function the Mp3 playing ability....
Any help....????

GREAT it worked perfeclty fine with me on a 2004 E55 euro command.. first i pressed mute-end call- servc, then the menu comes in 5 sec and in that menu pressed #-*-left and get little more optiones.. THANKS VERY MUCH..

I have 2003 E320 with euro command. I could't get into the secret menu in the engineering mode. I tied so many times with #-*-left but couldn't. Do you have to have CD changers in order to get into this secret menu?

Anyone know any hidden menus for a Japanese Command. It has DVD, TV, midi disk, 6 CD, phone, Nav.
It does not have a service button so most of the key combo's I have seen I can't even try.
3,5,7 doen't work.
I have a DVD region locked to Japan and can't play MP3's. I am sure there will be a way to un region lock it and play while driving etc. Just need a Japan tech guru

Hi Knguyen, Try selecting a mode which are not affected by these keys...e.g MAP or AUX if you do not have anything connected. Then press those combos like <Control> <Alt> <Del> on your PC.... press <#> <*> <left cursor key> in similar way for 5 seconds.
If it works, 3 additional soft keys should appear to right of screen. Remember you must get in the Engineering mode first.

The same thing happened to me recently after just installing my euro comand. I finally got it to work. After getting to the engineering menu,I pressed the mute button once again(don't hold it)(mute icon will appear) and then hitting #,* and left arrow simultaneously. Hope this helps

I still couldn't get into the secret menu. Maybe i have the old firmware? When I am in the engineering mode, if i select any mode like you said MAP or AUX, that mode will show. I have to press Mute,End call, serv again to go back into the engineering mode. Anyway, thanks for your help.

Does your car have OEM cradle for mobile phone ? If it does, and you have a similar command unit to W211 E class, it will be the button somewhere down bottom; possibly below command unit; with picture of phone being hung up (used to end calls if u do not use button on steering wheel).
Post pics of your center console area with command unit if u prefer.
