Renntech Carbon Fiber Airbox: Is it worth the price?

Thinking of getting the Renntech Carbon Fiber Airbox? Renntech says about 15hp increase, but I believe they typically underestimate? What do other board members think? Is it worth $3800?

It would be nice to have, but I can't see paying $3800 for an airbox. I imagine that they don't sell many at the current price. If they lowered the price to under 2k they would probably sell 20x the amount they currently sell and still be making a nice profit on the unit.

I have seen this mod on an SL55 and it seems like crazy money for what you get. I think you and your butt dyno would notice a greater performance gain with a set of $2000.00 Evo rotors.

This would absolutely be the last upgrade I would do on my car. Their are many other mods to consider to improve performance. If you are looking for a bang-for-your-buck mod........................look elsewhere.

Really can't justify the cost of the Renntech Airbox.

honduh, bimmer, bEnz, ferrari and etc
assume it would add few hp.
but dont think its worth the price.
a gruppeM airbox set up for a modena is under 3500.
this thing should be like 1500, and more ppl will buy it.

This is serious? A roughly 4% increase in HP by changing an airbox?

I have one on my SL55 and for the hell of it I put it on my wife's E55. The car did fell stronger especially when the SC engaged. I really can't tell on my SL since I had it installed with the larger pulley, upgraded ECU and larger throttle body. I can tell you that the SL is a different car with the RennTech mods.

You guys would even consider paying this kind of bread for an airbox?

I need to get into the aftermarket automotive parts business!
