Aftermarket brake pads..

What aftermarket brake pads that reduce brake dust do you guys recommend that are same quality if not better than our factory pads? And if so where do you get them from. Much appreciated.

I put a set of EBC green in my Viper, and the reduction of brake dust was amazing.... I hear they are hard on the rotors, but I haven't noticed anything odd as of yet....

anyone put a set on the E55?

i put axxis deluxe on my bmw 540. the reduction in brake dust was phenominal. after a week it was like one day of driving with the old pads. not sure if they make them for our cars.... but if they do, i'll be buying them when i need pads.

Angry ebc front pads

i put a new set of ebc pads the green stuff ones, they were the worst pads ever, the screeched when you apllied the brakes left more dust very disapointing, especially when the ebc rep recommended them they are junk, called the ebc rep they wanted to know if i turned my new rotors told them no because the car had less than 1000 miles on them they have not returned my calls or email took them off and threw them in the garage, just my 2 cents wouldn't buy them ever again

thanks for the heads up...i'll stay away from those. i could've sworn people have put ceramic coated aftermarkets pads on the E55 and said they reduced brake dust and did not screech either....just can't remember what brand they were talking about.

I believe Dr. Chill was experimenting with these if memory serves me correct. He also has/had a corvette and he would run them at Sebring. If I also remember the pads cost like $350/axle - but can't find the correspondence on a "search" Dr Chill - R U still out there?

I have the Porterfield R4S pads (I hope that is right) and they have been great. There is a better bite during hard braking and much less dust too. Whether or not they are more harsh on my rotors is yet to be seen. The pedal feel is much better, not so much of that factory mushy feel.

Still after the mods, My M5 and M3 factory brakes were still heads above.

Dont want to hi-jack the thread but can't we fit the E63's composite front rotors to our 55's?

Also ... what pads would you use for these composite rotors?

Rgds Steve.
