*** $1,500 CF Airbox with HP benefits ***
I'll have a delivery schedule soon.

Thanks!
Unforunately it wont work with your HPS system or the kleemann S/C.. Totally different configurations there.. Sorry.
For the rest of the guys, there is no ECU retuning necessary. The ECU has enough lee-way to compensate for the extra airflow. Although, the majority benefit might not be realized until we replace the air intake tubes with my own CF versions which will be bigger and smoother.
Thanks
Ken: Want to buy a new bumper? It comes off a much faster '55 then yours so mayber it will help you go quicker.....at least mentally!
Oh well, now I just have to get back to the US in one piece, wait for the doorbell to ring and it will be like christmas all over again!
Thanks Victor!
Thanks Aaron! Much appreciated. If you are interested in one, let me know and I'll put your name down.
Hopefully it'll be there waiting to greet you when you get home!

There 7 people left that need to send in payments.

Ok guys.. This is what is happening...
There are 10 airboxes arriving in my hands on Feb. 15th. These first 10 will go out to the people with STOCK throttle bodies first (in order of receipt of funds). The reason for this is that I am waiting for the machine shop to deliver the adapter piece that go into the neck of the airbox to fit it into the 80mm TBs. Sorry you guys..
The remaining airboxes will follow shortly after..
I'll get them packed and shipped out as quickly as possible and will post the names of the lucky recipients as they go out.
It will look like stock unit except in full CF.Where am i on the stand by list?
stock tb
VRUS I have sent money via PayPal for the 80mm TB. I finally figured out how to use it. Please take a look and let me know if this is OK and when I will receive the parts. I'll pay for quicker shipping.
Steve
If you guys still want an airbox email me at: vrus1@hotmail.com and just tell me your MBWorld alias so I know who you are.

Tubes & Engine Cover pricing
I received confirmation on the CF Tubes & Engine covers... This is pretty much solid info.. Just firming up some tooling & mold costs... Should have that ironed out on Monday.
Carbon Fiber AirTubes with silicon hose adapter & clamps: $500 - $550
Carbon Fiber Engine Cover: $525 - $600
Carbon Fiber AirTubes AND Engine Cover as a package: $900 - $950
What I really need is for everyone to reply to this thread and basically state which one they are interested in.. 1) Engine Cover, 2) Air Tubes, 3) Engine Cover & Tubes
This will allow me to gather a list and present it to the CF guys and see if we can pull this off for the number of people that are interested.
Engine Covers
· replacements for the factory parts, not overlays
· feature all of the factory standoffs (i.e. mounting points) so that you can reuse the factory clips and get an OEM fit
· You will be able to remove the MB logo (including the perforated background) from your factory cover and re-install it on the new carbon cover. The countersink for the emblem along with all mounting holes will be replicated perfectly
· The carbon cloth, weave pattern, resins and clearcoat will be the same as those used on the airbox. This is the only way to get a perfect match between the parts since variances in production technique yield differences in the final finish.
· The covers will have subtle modifications of the factory design to get a perfect fit against our airbox and to allow fitment of the enlarged air tubes (should they go into production) without any problems
Inlet Tubes
· These will be larger and shaped differently than the factory parts
· Same as above with regards to the carbon weaves, resins, and clearcoats which will be used
The optimal way to go about doing this is to create the Engine cover & Tubes at the same time to ensure a perfect match since they will be both made from the same batch of carbon.
We'll see how it goes once you guys have replied with your preference. I would need to get a 50% deposit from each of you if we are to go ahead with this because I will have to forward 50% of the money to the CF guys in order to start the mold & production process.
This is open to ANYONE.. The prices that are listed are the retail prices that they will provide to us as a group so anyone can purchase even if you dont have the CF Airbox.
