2009 C63 Black on Black
I sold my W211 2003 E55 a week and a half ago due to the lease ending. I have on order an E63 and am alarmed at some of the information being posted about the performance of the new 6.2 All AMG motor. I can state emphatically that I will test drive this car befor I sign on the dotted line. The E63 will be here in mid August and I do not want to pay what will be a >$85k price and be really dissapointed. Thoughts?

i doubt you'll be disappointed once it gets here, especially if the handling is as improved as claimed.
I dont know... 2008 is the 6.3L TT motor introduction.. You might be selling 1 yr later..
My E55 isnt going anywhere for now... UNLESS.. they put out that TT.. If the 6.3L TT is introduced, one is coming home with me.
Then, my 700hp (to-be) E55 will be for sale.. LOL...

I bet you will be happy with it. No worries.
Most of us are just pi$$ed cause it seems like Benz put the cap on modding the E63.
It's getting great reviews from actual drivers of it, so if you don't like it, I bet you can get rid of it fairly easily and come on back.

I seriously don't think that performance shy of the M5's should be the main factor of anyone making a decision on the E63. I for one, can't wait to test drive one as I will be looking for eithe E63 or ML63 as my daily/bad weather driver as my M6 will be my "weekend" car...can't wait for the 63's to show up.

I agree though, you should absolutely test drive anything before you sign.

Why does EVERYONE in your family (GF) have to drive an AMG-E?

I am curious about the new E63 so I called Patty and put my deposit down for one! It's all about the AMG bro!
What time are you picking up the car tomorrow? I should be back in town around 1pm and if possible, I want to see your finished car.

Has that happened at any point in AMG history? Not from what I gather.
Granted, I wasn't expecting the 63 to be significantly faster than the 55....tops a few tenths.

I am simply rolling this over to the E63 and it should be delivered on the release date of August 21st. Man, I really miss the Beast! That's probably why I'm concerned about the E63 at least being as fast and maybe a little faster than the E55. I just cant imagine AMG putting out a car that would be less than its predecessor.

There is no way an E63 will be faster than my Kleemann K1 E55, let alone K2 or beyond. That is why I decide to get a 2006 E55 even though I knew the 63 was coming very soon. I prefer the low end torque and the fact that the supercharged engine has so much more potential for relatively little money.

News flash......most AMG buyers don't modify their cars.
For those that don't, the E63 should be more desirable........due to the fact the entire package has been improved.
I do not remember at any point, where MB has updated a car and gone backwards performance or feature wise.
