You may have heard that, but it's coming from the guy who wants to think he has a real AMG, and those ain't it. They may have been purchased with //AMG on the trunk, but that was dealer installed, not MB. When I bought the '06 E55 at FJ, there was a S550 with the sport package and whadayaknow, //AMG on the trunk lid!

I still get a kick out of seeing (in Mission Viejo, California) a Black C240 (badging still on the left side) and AMG on the right side of the car. Yeah, a C240 AMG. Not even AMG wheels on it. Go figure . . .

No, some SL's were badged that way according to thread above. In all honesty, I think some people really overplay the AMG brand. They are nice cars....I just never looked at any of them that different with the exception of the SL, CL, S55/65's as those are $125k-200k AMG cars....the AMG'ing of the flagship Benz models.

C240: AMG badge on one side, and were the "c240" emblem would go, it had a KOMPRESSOR emblem....... fake AMG tips, fake LM5 wheels, slammed, and EBAY headlights..... hell, my SLK dosnt even have emblems. DEBADGED is the way to go these days..

2015 S65 AMG
ive seen a baby blue C300 luxury body on central ave with all C63 AMG Black series badges, trunk lid, fender the the whole deal. he looked real big until i pulled up in an S65 at the lights, ive never seen a smile fade so quickly.
