RENNtech Lowering Module Installed

I dropped the car off at RENNtech a couple of weeks ago to get the LM installed. I am very satisfied with the product and the quality of install.

Found this spot while doing some errands today and I had my point-and-shoot camera with me = mini-photoshoot.

Hey that's Dadeland mall!!!! lol.

Your car looks sweet.
How long did it take them to install it? Do you like it? I was going to get it done at the same time as my Stage 1, but i decided to leave it for another day.

you don't get "visit workshop" messages driving at the height???? If not, more power to you... wish I could go that low.

Definitely no visit workshop signals at ALL. I drop mine that low all the time, but i don't drive around like that. Isn't it a bit bouncy?? Consider having the thing remounted somewhere you can have access more easily and add the "remote" knobs so you don't have to unscrew the box every time. Other than that....WOOOAHH That is one sweet looking E!!

Looks great man but I would think the ride would be harsh as hell. Again, it looks sick man, just sick.

You can pull your knobs off and replace the metal extenders. You will also need to drill four holes in the RENN box to let the extension arms through. I would never have bought mine without that option. Why not just reposition the sensors, if you are gonna keep it one height?

JESUS that looks sick. You dont get any rubbing at all driving at that height? Looks like your front fenders would be gone in a second! This module must be a good investment given that you can adjust the height whenever you like. Is it really that easy to use? Just turn the knobs and up/down it goes?

Yup, just that easy...BUT...that is IF you do the Jangy mod to the module. If not, you hve to get to the module, open it up (screws), and then turn the knobs.

I'm sure it won't be long before someone steals my idea and makes the next gen ELM that will be fully on the fly (like mine is now)

VRUS, are you listening?? You source the electronics and I'll get the knobs and harness. This could be our first product?? Hehe!

Actually, it was a joint venture, so to speak. The module was the first thing I went to Creative for and I already had the idea to mod it and they were able to do the work. Even they will tell you that this is the way to go. I'd bet ALL the boxes installed at Creative have had the mod. See? i told you to buy it from James. If you had, I'm sure he would just throw the pieces in the mail for you. Actually, he is a cool enough guy that you can probably contact him and he'll tell you what guage shaft (and even source) it is. I can also take mine apart and take some pics, if you want.

I think I had my box before I knew you got yours from James..and before James came on board here...I'll send him a note...these boxes should all be built like that. I didn't take a knob off so I am not sure what I'm dealing with...

They just pull off. Trust me you can figure it out by openning it up. You did at least install it in a place that is easy to get to, right? If not, get that done, too. i was first planning on just leaving the box top off, so that i could reach in, but del at james' shop came up with these extenders, making it all the better. Creative is good folks, I think they will hook you up. Just remember them on your next buy!!

no workshop signals here either.

the ride isnt that bad with the car dumped..i've had a couple of slammed vipers, so maybe im just used to the bouncy/rough ride..i actually like it, it seems to handle alot better and the car feels tighter.

im not too keen on the idea of drilling into the module box..the only time im ever going to raise the car is to take it into servicing, and i dont mind taking the extra 5 minutes or so to gain access to the module..but your setup does look ALOT more convenient.

thanks for the compliment.

thanks!

no rubbing whatsoever..when i picked up the car, the tech. had it set to number 4 (like a 1" drop or so) and it didnt suffice, so, i put it to 0 all the way around and ive had no issues (keeping fingers crossed )

its really easy to use, just unscrew 4 small screws and your on/off switch and the 3 sensor switches are right there..after you select which height you want, you cycle the airmatic system (by pressing the raise/lower button below the shifter) and the car drops to the desired level.

looks good but daaaaaaaaaamn that car is low.
almost reminds me of the old 50-60's bugs when the wheels butterfly in the back from lowering to the ground.

nice looking car. i really need to lower my car.

By the way, you do NOT have to cycle the car for it to do its thing. Just have the car running, put it in park and trun away. the car will react in a second or so. Pretty cool. That way, you can just keep turning one notch at a time until you get what you like.
