I Just Ran Against...Yes...An SLR
Now normally I'm not akin to this sort of behavior but this was an opportunity that I could not let pass me by. I was driving up - of all streets - Rodeo Drive just now going north. As I'm crossing Santa Monica a completely blacked out SLR darts up behind me with Brabus Monoblocks. The car was jumping as if it was on crack and it couldn't be more obvious that he wanted to mess around. Now the flats of Beverly Hills consist of long straight streets with stop signs every few hundred yards. I was in front and with him behind me I began to sprint from one stop sign to the next. A car was pulling out of a driveway in front of me so I slowed down but he just went right on the other side of the road around me. At the next stop sign he started first and I chased after him. I'll tell you that thing made my car feel like a minivan! Now my car is prone to getting exhausted pretty easily and I had been driving all day but I was foot-to-the-floor and this guy just walked away. The thing didn't even sound like it was struggling. I mean I knew that car was fast but DAMN.
I know the E55 stands no chance against an SLR but now the next thing on my list of mods is definitely some sort of power upgrade. That machine just made me feel like I was riding a bycicle when I was at full kickdown

Your worst nightmare...
I posted a video a few weeks ago of an SLR toying with an E55, so i could imagine, it was just ridiculous, but don't take it so hard it is no comparison in the weight to power ratio, just attach a few rocket launchers to your E55, let's fry the SLR, lol!!!

Thats Bijan's SLR. He's the high-end clothing designer/perfume guy. He's always got some kind of crazy-*** car parked in front of his store. Usually its a Bentley with yellow/orange interior. Now its an SLR with a giant lion painted on the hood and a bunch of sponsor stickers all over it. Its kinda IMO.

IMO.I sold my E55 to one of Bijan's employees. I wonder how the S65 stacks up against the SLR?

hah, I ran into an SLR 2 days ago here in a little town outside of Frankfurt (Germany). Silver... gorgeous. I was only in an SL500 so I didn't even THINK about screwing around with him. But lemme tell ya one thing, when that thing flew by me on the Autobahn... sounded like the turbine of a plane. I was going 190 km/h... the SLR is just out of this world.........
