Popping Noise at "stop and Go" speeds

Popping Noise at "stop and Go" speeds
My 2005 has a popping noise that seems to be coming from the rear or beneath the E55. Will take it in to Park Place Mercedes on Monday. Any idea as to what the noise could be? Sometime it feels like its binding.

Probably the exhaust expanding and contracting when cooling down.

I've had the same issue. thought it was the steering rack. It comes and goes. More noticeable on uneven pavement. Let us know what the dealer says. THX

I have this too. Cracking like springs popping on a ford, but we dont have springs lol.

Yeah... had the same problem, it was the rear sway bar. Loose bolts or links. When turning L or R click & pop noise, also on uneven ground.

could be your c4 or c5 poping in and out of place when you hit the gas!

Took the E55 in this morning to Park Place Mercedes. The service tech drove the car and indicated he could not duplicate the "popping noise" at low speeds. Even though this beauty might groan and pop I still love this Alabaster E55 with Chrome Lowenharts no matter What. All have a great day

Mine went in, they were able to duplicate the sound and said they believe its the rear control arms. Still havent gotten the car back though to verify that it has been fixed.
