Run at RoadAmerica - 4 miles of bliss

This is a chance to open 'er up on a world-class track, RoadAmerica !!!
The dates are October 14-15th 2006.
$350 gets you 2 days of running, about 8-9 sessions (plenty!)
$200 for either Saturday or Sunday.
The MFBA is hosting the event, and I have participated with this group for 2 years now (spring and fall.) It is a great bunch with some nice cars. Last time there were some nice Euros, including GT2, F355, 928S4, V8 Turbo Lotus and the like.
There is a nice hotel nearby, the Osthoff Resort. Rates are very fair.

Imagine the fun one could have with twice the horsepower !!!!
PS If you can't make that weekend, come the next and you'll not only get Driver's Ed events, but you'll also get to see sprint races.

Especially helpful if it is your 'local' track and want to get some time on it.
And there is the added benefit of one-on-one instruction should you want it....
NASA events are Good Stuff.

A local club here in southern California has events for less money where you have 5 30 minute sessions and by mid afternoon they allow the track to be open to the advanced people at all times since most the slow drivers end up leaving early. The trouble with club tack rentals is that you need to make srue you find a safe group with serious drivers. I have seen some events that more closely resembeled a rush hour traffic free for all than a driving event. Those clubs are always the ones with wrecked cars and thats never my goal!
If you want track time NASA seems less than ideal but they are perfect for Time Trialing and for racing events.

If you have no interest in being competitive or watching those who are, then a club setting is going to be much more comfortable. It's neat for friends of all levels to come watch you race or race with you and still be able to include the friends who've never been on a track.
Meegle, if you want something less competitive then try out Chin Motorsports. They're schedule does not include any racing and is very similar to what Cyn described.

The MFBA also has instructors available for ride-alongs both in their car and yours.....if desired. They operate "on call" to keep the proceedings moving along, and are available for all skill levels.
Thank you for the link and info. I have never raced at a road course but have made several hundred 1/4 mile passes in my years of racing at different strips and do hold a NHRA class 4 license....hopefully I won't be limited to a novice class where I am restricted on a top end run.
I will look into Sebring to see if it fits my schedule.

If you're serious, go rent a G35 from Enterprise. Or take your car in for warranty work on a Friday, so you get a loaner.
