HRE lead times??

How long did it take for you guys to get your rims and how did you get updates? It's been a bit of time and still no fittment or rims. I'm getting PISSED. If these rims are not EXACTLY what they were advertised to be, we will have some issues.

2 months to get mine. Well worth the wait IMO.

Was it 8 weeks AFTER you got the measurements set? Or 8 weeks after you paid? My worry is that they are just sitting on my money and will just try to pawn off the old usual to me when my turn comes.

We were SPECIFIC on the needs. Rear: 18X10.5 running 295 PS2s without rubbing. Front: 18X9 running 275 PS2s without rubbing. I assumed that they would want to test fit it in case changes were needed. I'm not waiting 2 months just to start complaining. I hope they know what they are doing. If so, then I just get my rims and am happy. If not, I'm gonna be pissed. I didn't get an R&D discount, so I don't need to go through the headache of making it happen.

1 month?? Damn, now I do wonder. I haven't contacted them myself. i have only asked my tuner. Maybe I'll start to bug HRE myself, since I am not bargaining anyway? Is that allowed?

Since you went through your tuner and not directly through HRE, you're relying on your tuner's word that your specs and requirements were relayed accurately to HRE. HRE does a lot of custom work and their rep was not built on "pawning off the usual." I'd be asking your tuner questions about the status of your order. Did he give you a lead time? Was fitment to your specs guaranteed? Ask him for a contact at HRE so that you can personally check the progress; if he won't provide it, contact HRE directly. Guy Atherton has been particularly helpful to me in the past.

My tuner called HRE on the speakerphone and I asked the questions I had right there. There is no statement on the receipt regarding rubbing, but it does say 18X10.5 for an E55. I specifically asked the HRE rep (Mike) about PS2 295s and he asked if I was local. My tuner said yes, and Mike said then it would happen. He said it would need fitting just to be sure on the exact offset. If it doesn't, it is a deal breaker to me and I will get my money back. Trust me, I guarantee that part and have been clear about it all along. The reason i did not go to HRE directly, is because I am building a relationship with my tuner. He knows how eccentric I am and what i want. Not just from rims, but performance parts overall.

I don't mind the current wait and I don't even know the technical process of making them. Maybe they can adjust whatever it is at the end, which explains why I have not been fitted yet. But, I was just curious so i thought I'd ask here. I know the HREs are worth the wait.

Mine took a month. It can take up to 8 weeks depending on how busy they are. How long ago did you order them?

It has been a month. Again, I am not as worried about how long it has been as the fact tha we have had no test fits. If I wanted the same size that everyone else sells, I would NOT have gotten HREs.

They don't give you updates unless you call the person you ordered them from and ask an update, then they can check.

My latest set of HRE's took about 6 weeks. I have seen then take up 4 months or as little as 3 weeks.

The epic HRE turnaround has struck again.

I've ordered 5 sets of HREs to date, and for those 5 sets I've invested a total of 2 yrs and 3 months and counting...just ordered up a set of C 21s. Promised date of delivery is in a week, I'll let you know if they live up to it. From past experience, I won't be keeping my hopes up.

I've heard people getting their wheels in 2 weeks...rumored that one must order via the right dealer. I've ordered through Lucent Motors, Wheel Experts, and Wheels Boutique, never got a single set sooner than 6 weeks. My longest wait time was a record 4 months and 3 weeks...didn't even get a discount for the special ordered black ceramic dome-etched center caps.

For some it's worth the wait, personally, I am beginning to lose patience. If I don't get mine as promised this time around, I will not consider the HRE route ever again. Durability I've noticed isn't that great either...much more susceptible to damage from the most minor of potholes/bumps compared to BBS or Brabus Monoblock VIs + Vs. But HRE sure does look good, and there is definitely the "bling" factor. Just imho, good luck and if it's any consolation, I'll be waiting with you.

Jangter,
Hang in there! The good things in life are worth waiting for! I would just have the tuner check up on them for you. I know how you feel about waiting for stuff....I am still waiting for my NOS software to come in. Try three months and counting. When I was going to order the color you ordered, they said that color would take a couple of weeks more than the standard finish. That is the price you pay for being a baller.
