Okay guys, I finally got to the track to see what "Victor's 80mm throttle body" would do for my car. First, the bad news................... it did nothing to improve my driving skills as evident by my less than steller ETs.

The good news is it added some significant power. I ran four times today with my trap speeds at 124.31 - 124.63 every time. Yeah my ET's sucked but I could not get my wheels to stop spinning until I was half way down the track. My previous best trap speed was 122.56 so I pick up at least 2mph.

I was running some heavy-*** DRs with my stock rims so I'm thinking I may have seen 125mph with my lighter BBS LMs.

A big thank you to Victor for taking the time and initiative to put this project together. I am now officially a "believer"!!!!

wow... 124MPH is awesome..... what's the deal with those drag radials though? was the track prep really bad? you should be able to get about a 2.0 60 foot with ESP on and just hammering it off the line.....

how old are those dr's...are they dry rotted or something? or was the track really that bad? you should be 60 footing 1.6's and deep into the 11's with dr barring your driving skills.

last night was my first run with this car at the track and i was running 1.7 60ft. on 36psi street tires.

on the other hand 124mph...WOW!!!

Rock:
Congrats on some insane trap speeds!!
If I'm not mistaken - that's the fastest verified "non-bottle" trap speed
for our E's .........at least till I get a cool day and hit Moroso myself, as I know mine is coming too, from the way these TB's are!
What was the outside air temperature during the runs?

Congrats - KILLER SPEED!!

Rock, awesome trap speed!!! 2.4 60's... geez ... that's what we were getting in Cali with that dirt covered track... track prep there must have been terrible as well.

I'm hitting the track this Wednesday. That 124 you posted gets me even more excited!

Way to go!!!

Like Ken said, that might be the fastest, non-bottle K3 to date. We'll at least until Wednesday

BTW - I'll need a cool evening - 50-60 degrees to match that trap speed.
I've done several "crude" 1/4 mi traps with the Hiway patrol stripes and the absolute best I'm seeing is 122'ish.........but that's also in 75-80 degree weather.

Time for the next mod ........CF intake........ VIC: - R U reading this??? We need your next mod man.....

After that,.... 2.82 or 3.06 rear-end....by then we're in the LOW 11's !!

I did every run today with traction control off. I thought I did the proper tire warm up each time but when I tried to get off the line with finesse, I just looked like a dork. Oh well..............sometimes you just have to call a spade.......a spade.

Rock:
I was so curious as to your stellar performance and the temps....I just dug up the weather for the day at Dragway 42. It was definately cold: 35 -36 degrees at time of run......man I wish I had those kind of conditions ....unfortunately for me - I don't think I'll get those kinds of temps to be able to match you.... Congrats on a GREAT trap speed!!
I just get to go to the Beach during winter months down here

Hey Ken,

It was a cool day. The temps were 40+ to 50+ at the track. I was thinking that my trap speeds stayed the same for every run due to my new ceramic coated Kleemann headers? Good advice from Grump, Vic and Cory.

If you don't trap at 125mph, I'll be laughing at you (along with Josh......... assuming he also traps 125).

Start laughing 'cause the only chance I have of doing 125mph is to be in 40 degree weather and in S. Florida.........I can only dream about those kind of temps Nope Rock........Congrats on your trap 'cause I don't think it will ever be cold enough here in S Fla to run and match your #'s.....

Honestly, I don't think I'm going to trap 124+ .... my previous best trap was 120mph. I don't think the 80mm is going to improve 4mph. So my man, I think you hold the crown. What I do know, is that I'll beat that e.t. Hoping to go 11.5x's ... only time will tell.

Not that e.t. is anything to brag about, I'd rather have the higher trap.

Again, congrats... that trap is amazing.

Ha Ha, I look at it this way. I would give up 2 extra mph on my car if I could to live in sunny Florida or the always happening LV. Remember, I have to live in Cleveland. Life is a trade-off.

That's awesome!!! CONGRATS!!!

I am so glad that you are happy with the car.. I said from day one that the TB really wakes the car up and just makes it pull like a freight train up top. You proved it with those traps; 124mph is moving...

It's hard not to believe when you are trapping 124mph, Ken's dynoing at 530rwhp, and JakPro is dynoing 550rwhp (with SLR cams)... The TB makes this car breathe and is a NECESSITY if you have pullies & ECU in my opinion.

The CF airbox is the next restriction in the line and I think that will just be the cherry on top.. Look for another 1mph - 2mph in trap speed with that addition...
