Hello guys...finally I have done some DYNO runs this weekends...
Weather in the Dynoshop was +16C...
Dyno - latest DynoDynamic machine...
My mods: Kleemann Style Headers, Primary Cats removed, E. Race mufflers and ASP pullies + custom ECU adjusted to those mods...
All graphs showing CRANK HP !!!
We couldnt do the FULL speed pull on 4 gear, cause DYNO machine would let US...its porgrammed for max speed of 125 mph...so it would only let us go up to 4600 RPMs...
Can someone tell ME what would happand nex if we got to FULL SPEED at 4th ???
Other graphs shows the FULL RUN run on 3rd gear...and we got the whole graph...
Please let ME know you comments guys...and I would apriaciate if some one who know this staff could recalculate this to USA measures and tell what they think about the GRAPHS...
Is everything OK with my ECU and anything I need to change ???
I also have all lambda ratio printed at each RPMS...
Thanks

Can someone explain what those numbers are translated into rwhp and rwtq?
I know if you divide by 1.36 we get numbers in KW...around 457kw
There must be someone here who knows how to transfer those measures...
and other question if on 4th gear we get TOP POWER around 620HP at 4600..Whould this number be higher at higher RPMs like 6800 ???

Well, depends on what you think the drive train loss is. If loss is 15% (using 600 hp as average) then rwhp would be about 510 if it is 19% then rwhp would be about 486.Originally Posted by ItalianStallion

Congrats. A full pull in 4th would be great to see.

The second graph shows your HP peaking at about 6200 RPM. Definitely breathing well !
I would be very interested in seeing the Lambda (A/F)

I believe you divide crank HP/1.23. I remember seeing this on either Kleeman's or Renntech's site.Originally Posted by ItalianStallion

From Renntech's site, HTH:
All graphs show wheel horsepower and torque. To find crank horsepower and torque, multiply value by 1.23. This accounts for drive train losses.

One question:
Since the crank numbers need to be calculated from the wheel HP, what conversion factor did they use to express the crank HP number?

They say the Dyno Graph shows rwhp. Originally Posted by ChicagoX

E55 RUSS said the numbers were crank hp. rwhp would be crank minus drive train loss. 23% loss is too high. Kleemann says there is about 19% loss, others on this board feel it is 15%. That's why I gave those figures. I agree a dyno should show rwhp, not crank, unless it did a calculation itself to convert rwhp to bhp.

I hate to say this. But the fact that these # are at the crank they are pretty much useless to most people who knows anything about dyno. Whoever converts rwhp # to crank hp only have one thing in mind, try to show more HP than the car really have. There is just no accurate way to convert RWHP to crank HP, period. This is the same thing as people who run the 1/4 mile above sea level and try to give you the corrected to sea level time. If your car didn't actually do it it did not happen. It's as simple as that. Next time you dyno your car ask for the real dyno sheet with actual RWHP. Then we would all know how much more power you car actually make.
Well...As I been told the Dyno calculates all the numbers inlcuding transmission loss by it self, there is all the data about 211 e55, we select E55 and then do a pull...
Why they have crank HP is because most of the people here want to see crank HP, thats why they have this software...
On the Dyno there is program that you can use and then it shows you wheel HP...but they are telling ME that its easy just to recalculate to KW and then to torgues at the wheels...
I will copy and paste Lambda numbers later...
Where are our experts
who can solve and expain this issue...
Anyone from AUS who know staff about DynoDynamic machines can chime inn ???

The only way to know if your tune is right is to see A/F ratios ....
The chart in 3rd gear willl add further uncertainty as the conversion will be off ... the dyno will compensate for it - but 4th gear runs are the most usefull.... wierd why dyno wont go >125mph tho.
So looks healthy - but not sure how healthy ...

My car with K2 has been run on a Dyno Dynamics and showed a rwhp of only 425, and yes, the car had to be pulled in 3rd gear. It did not convert to crank hp. I never really felt the machine did it justice. I'm going to get a DynoJet done. The A/F was about 10.8 to 1

I also ran my car on a DynoDynamics and it showed rwhp and rwtq, thats why I was confused about this dyno.
Spoked to Dyno Shop today..they spoked with DynoDynamics...they said there some kind of Cams need to bechanged for the machine to be runned over 125mph...4 of them need to be changed and cost of each is 4800 USD...
They will chnged it once the current ones are go bad...
They said they had the latest software and dyno caluculates the grpah n futher even we could reach onle 205 kms..
I have A/F ratios..will post them when I have some spare time... If I remeber they are something like 10.0 to 1 or 10.4 to 1...

i and anyone who knows what dynos should be used for would argue that dynos are not meant to calulate the absolute power so the RWHP and CRANK HP are both not right anyway. Dynos should be used as a tuning tool and the same machine and settings should be used to judge the relative output of the engine when changing the engine tune or components i.e. modding. They are only used for printing whp and crank hp numbers becuase people are prepared to pay money for it even though it means little when you look at the variation between the different types/styles of dynos and variations withing different machines of the same type.Originally Posted by dmzz

That why I did this...before I had 535-540 hp on same Dyno and now the number is different...

Trap speed is the best and easiest way using ...
Either ...
HP = mass(pounds) x (velocity(mph)/234)^3
kW = mass(kg) x (velocity(km/h)/319)^3
Also you get more real life test in that cooling systems are running as per design and not having the motor run static and heat soaking.

I dont undertand..Can anyone tell ME anything about my Lambda numbers ???
